Say A Little Prayer the Movie

When a friend of Luis Fonsi's passed him a film script for “Say a Little Prayer,” the global pop star agreed to look at it as a courtesy.

“I wasn’t looking (to act). I wasn’t auditioning. It wasn’t something that was next on my to-do list,” said the artist, whose song “Despacito” became a global phenomenon. “I’m thinking in my head that by page 10, I’d be like, nah, (I’ll) just stick to the music thing.”

But in reading the script, he said, Fonsi realized that he could identify with the movie’s main character.

Now, Fonsi is making his debut as a lead actor in the film “Say a Little Prayer,” which opens at AMC and other theaters nationwide Friday. The movie, which features a nearly all-Latino cast, follows the romantic adventures of three best friends in San Antonio.

The 4th Annual LATINAFest Hero Women Rising Entrepreneur Grant, presented by Chase, is now open for submissions. This grant allows Chase and LATINAFest to support the growth of small business.

The $5,000 grant will be presented on March 24, 2024, at LATINAFest at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles.

If you have been in business for at least three years and have a solid plan for growth, you are encouraged to apply.
