The World Must Know
1.Since 1954, Thailand has trampled the boundaries of our nation. Acting as an aggressor, it has repeatedly violated Cambodia’s sovereignty. That year, it seized the sacred temple of Preah Vihear. In 1962, the International Court of Justice issued its ruling: Cambodia holds sovereignty over the site. Thailand was ordered to withdraw.
2.But the years have passed, and arrogance remains. In 2008, as the temple was being inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, tensions flared once again. Weapons were drawn. In 2013, the ICJ reaffirmed what should have long been respected: Preah Vihear and its surrounding area belong to Cambodia.
3.And yet…
On July 24, 2025, Thailand once again crossed the line. It deployed troops near the temples of Ta Muen Thom and other locations before launching attacks in blatant defiance of international law. Since July 24, our forces have resisted. Our people have suffered. Blood has been shed on our soil.
Cambodia does not seek conflict. It defends its land, its peace, and its dignity.

1.Depuis 1954, la Thaïlande foule les lignes de notre frontière. Elle s’impose en agresseur, violant la souveraineté du Cambodge. Cette année-là, elle s’est emparée du temple sacré de Preah Vihear. En 1962, la Cour internationale de justice a rendu son verdict. Le Cambodge est souverain sur ce site. La Thaïlande devait s’en retirer.
2.Mais les années passent, et l’arrogance demeure. En 2008, lors de l’inscription du temple à l’UNESCO, les tensions ont ressurgi. Les armes ont parlé. En 2013, la CIJ a réaffirmé ce qui aurait dû être respecté depuis longtemps : Preah Vihear et ses environs appartiennent au Cambodge.
3.Pourtant…
Le 24 juillet 2025, la Thaïlande a de nouveau franchi la limite. Elle a déployé des troupes près des temples de Ta Muen Thom et ailleurs avant de lancer les attaques, bafouant le droit international. Nos forces ont résisté. Nos civils ont souffert. Et le sang a coulé sur notre sol.
Le Cambodge ne cherche pas le conflit. Il défend sa terre, sa paix, sa dignité…
