Masoud Mirzaei (Austria) has been awarded the title ND Photographer of the Year 2025 in the Professional category and receives a $3,000 cash prize.
Set on the vanished shores of Lake Urmia, Mirzaei’s image of a solitary cloaked figure approaching a small group in the shimmering distance becomes a quiet meditation on loss, memory, and what humanity has failed to protect.
Katarzyna Zub (United Kingdom) has been awarded the title ND Discovery of the Year 2025 in the Non-Professional category and receives a $2,000 cash prize.
Her awarded work combines lush river landscapes with precise geometric forms to evoke nature’s regenerative cycles and the quiet hope they offer amid ecological crisis.
Additionally, 6 cash prizes ($500 each) went to the Professional category winners:
- Nina Papiorek (Germany) in Architecture,
- Luke Gram (Canada) in Editorial,
- Masoud Mirzaei (Austria) in Fine Art,
- Amit Eshel (Israel) in Nature,
- Quintavius Oliver (United States) in People,
- Ramona Zordini (Italy) in Special.
Also, 5 Non-Professional category winners also received their cash prizes ($400 each):
