We are saddened by the passing of Jim Kimball today. Jim joined the Touch and Go family in the ‘80s when he became the hard-hitting drummer in Laughing Hyenas. After the Hyenas, Jim drummed in Quarterstick bands Mule and DK3 during the ‘90s.

Congratulations to Sahan Jayasuriya on the release of his book, “Don’t Say Please: the oral history of Die Kreuzen”, now available from Feral House Publishing.

Sahan spent ten years seeking out and speaking with band members, friends, musicians, and others about the band, compiling a comprehensive and well rounded account of their history. Contributors include all four band members, Corey Rusk, Richard Kohl, Steve Albini, Greg Anderson, Lou Barlow, Ian MacKaye, Thurston Moore, David Pajo, Butch Vig, and many more.

He was kind enough to sit down and answer a few questions at Clementine’s in Milwaukee, WI last weekend.

Circa un anno fa, UZEDA - Do It Yourself veniva presentato in anteprima mondiale al Biografilm di Bologna, per poi intraprendere un lungo giro nelle sale e nei cinema italiani.

Oggi siamo molto felici di annunciare che dal 7 luglio il nostro film sarà disponibile in streaming su OpenDDB: una piattaforma indipendente, perfetta per ospitare il racconto degli Uzeda, la cui vita artistica e personale si fonda interamente sugli ideali di indipendenza e cultura DIY.

About a year ago, UZEDA – Do It Yourself had its world premiere at the Biografilm Festival in Bologna, kicking off a long tour across Italian cinemas and theaters.

Today, we’re very happy to announce that starting from July 7, our film will be available for streaming on OpenDDB: an independent platform, the perfect home for Uzeda’s story: a life built entirely on ideals of independence and DIY culture, both artistically and personally.

Steve Miller (The Fix, Blight, author) has written a book about Laughing Hyenas, set to be released on July 29 by J-Card Press. The book chronicles the rocky road the band traveled to bring you their abrasive brand of blues, punk, and rock ’n’ roll - as it really happened.

To commemorate the release, Touch and Go Records will be sharing a Q&A between author Steve Miller and John Brannon (Laughing Hyenas, Negative Approach, Easy Action). Steve will ask John a few questions, and John will ask Steve a few questions.
