Ethiopia has brewed its highest-ever coffee export revenue, earning an astonishing USD 1.87 billion from over 354,000 tons exported in just ten months of the fiscal year, according to the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority. This marks a 70% surge in volume and an 87% increase in earnings compared to the same period last year — the largest annual performance in the country’s coffee export history.

🚨 This just in - headliners for the Pre Classic Women's 5000m have been announced.

World Record Holder Gudaf Tsegay will return to the event after she set the 5K WR at the 2023 Pre Classic. Beatrice Chebet set the 10K World Record at the 2024 Pre Classic.

Medina Eisa, Ejgayehu Taye and Tsigie Gebreselama will all push those two and any of these five women could walk away with the win. Gebreselama won last year's Pre Classic 5,000m with her 14:18.

History made in women’s football/soccer!

Congratulations to Naomi Girma, an American of Ethiopian heritage, for becoming the first woman to break the $1 million transfer fee mark in football/soccer! Naomi joins Chelsea FC from the San Diego Wave.

A remarkable talent, Naomi was named the 2020 U.S. Young Female Player of the Year and the 2023 Female Player of the Year.

He gained recognition for his narrative works such as Bush Mama (1979), Ashes and Embers (1982), and Sankofa (1993). In 1996, Gerima established the Sankofa Video and Bookstore in Washington, D.C., a cultural and intellectual hub offering opportunities for self-expression, interaction, discussion, and analysis through community events. Gerima continues to distribute and promote his films, including his most recent festival success, Teza (2008), which earned the Jury and Best Screenplay awards at the Venice Film Festival. : Julie Mehretu, an Ethiopian-American, has once again broken the record for the highest sale price at auction of any work by an African-born artist. Her abstract painting Walkers with the Dawn and Morning fetched $10.7m at Sotheby's in New York. Her previous record of $9.3m was set last month. Earlier this year, Julie was chosen to create BMW's next Art Car. Her work will be painted onto a BMW car that will be part of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race next year.
