We welcome the NSW Government’s announcement of an Expression of Interest process for a second major film studio in Greater Sydney.

Central Coast Studios will be engaging with the process and continuing our work with industry and community to support the growth of the NSW screen sector.

We’re supporting Sydney’s 2nd major film studio, with $100 million dedicated to backing the screen and film industry, right here in NSW.

Sydney’s already a high demand location for international film productions, with a number of high profile projects made here in the last few years.

We know the demand is there, so we’ll be strengthening the industry locally, delivering more jobs in Sydney and bringing global interest as we solidify our State as a globally renowned film production destination.

New South Wales has an opportunity to strengthen its screen industry for the long term.

Central Coast Studios could create 2,500 local jobs and inject $750 million into the Central Coast each year — while expanding production capacity, supporting creatives and lifting the film, television and games industry across the entire state.

This is more than a regional project.

It’s infrastructure that would benefit NSW as a whole — from local crew and small businesses to international productions choosing to film here.

We’re asking NSW residents and screen professionals to stand together and show their support.

If you believe in growing jobs, expanding opportunity and strengthening the future of the screen industry in our state, please add your name to the petition.

Let’s build this together.

Today was a big moment for the screen industry in NSW.

Our ambassadors Luke Hemsworth and Ana Thu Nguyen joined national media to discuss the future of Australian production and the opportunity to expand world-class screen infrastructure in New South Wales.

Luke spoke across Sunrise, The Kyle & Jackie O Show, and ABC Radio, while Ana joined him for an in-depth feature with FilmInk.

This conversation is about strengthening the entire screen ecosystem. Supporting local stories. Attracting international productions. Creating more opportunity across film, television and games.

Thank you to the media outlets who engaged with the vision, and to Aprille Love and the team at Sefiani for their professionalism and coordination throughout a significant press day.

NSW has the talent. The ambition. The global reputation. Expanding production capacity is the next step.
