Should seal hunting be introduced in the UK?

I'm sure to the general public seals are considered a rare sighting, but I'm most anglers would probably agree that its rarer to have a fishing session these days without seeing one or two cruising around.

I remember as a kid, our summer holidays to Blakeney in Norfolk, which was home to a colony of around 20-30 seals. A colony that now sees up to 10,000 seals at peak breeding season.

With natural predators almost none existent in our waters, is it time to allow seal hunting to take place in Britain, or do we hope natural predators will soon appear in our waters?

I'm heading down for a spot of charter fishing this weekend and fancy a try at catching my first gilthead. It's a species i dont normally get to target up north so any hints / tips / tackle shop recommendations are most welcome.
