It is because of their whispers and their presence, that I must continue to fight towards liberation.

Good Tuesday Morning.

Healers who are trying to create sacred space for others, trying to create safe space in their own home, trying to be one of many lights só fellow humans do not lose their way, trying to encourage and empower others when life can be or seem hopeless, trying to advocate and fight when life turns ugly and unfair...

Sometimes these Healers find it difficult to get up in the morning, hide their own pain and fear, find they want to do nothing

Healers too, need to be refilled.

I miss going to the Waters....


Although I live seconds away from Lake Niagara, the surrounding pier has a vibe that is just off. People whether involunary or volunary have either succumbed to the Waters or, do not have enough respect for the Waters. People use that space too, to dump their emotions besides fishing for fish that unfortunately have traces of mercury within them.

Só I cannot find peace or hear Spirit at those Waters.

It reminded me of the line in Sweet Honey in the Rock's song:

"We killed the Living Waters..."

Being at the Waters is a ritual itself and therefore sometimes you have to find calm spaces só that one can meditate, experience stillness and commune with Spirit.

Life in it's chaos, can drive you to the Waters.

Today I took a chance, and explore a state park, close to home and dig my feet into the sacredness of Mother Earth and the waters

"We used to drink from waters that were pure
And dance in sparkling waters oh so blue
Living in this amazing peaceful paradise
Colors of every living kind of hue
Of every hue...
Where are the living waters"

The Waters continue to call me
I sit
I listen
I honor
I offer...

May is Mental Health Awareness month.

For my context, it is important to understand and know one's roots, one's origin story. For many Peoples who have identifed as African American and may now also use African Descent/ African Diaspora the desire to at least know where our story began, has increased. Our story, My Peoples story did not begin in enslavement but eons before.

For me, I wanted to know my ancestral heritage.

I've done as a present to myself and the results of knowing whose people I belong to and what country is important. I may never know the specific tribe but now I know where my maternal line began...

May is Mental Health Awareness month.

Self care comes first before driving back into the justice waters.

It's okay to pause and heal oneself before continuing the fight for true liberation.

Stress is a killer

Pause

Breathe

Be.

Take a nap. Eat snacks. Take a walk. Hug a kitty. Or your favorite human. Or your children. Or your kindred. Or nature. Dive into waters and be refreshed. Do whatever uplifts your soul.

Know that you are loved.

Pause, Rinse, Repeat.

Alright fam, I am putting yall on notice.....



For the past 2 years ever since Izzy transfered into BuffState, to realize her true passion and calling into the Fashion Design and Textile industry, she has modeled both years at Runway and did it again this year.

BUT ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25 is her LAST YEAR and she will be taking the Senior Design course...
..which prepares her to create 4 ORIGINAL DESIGNS at next year’s Runway!

SO! How can you support her?

*Izzy will need fabric and tons of it. Só gift cards to Joann's, etc and/or donations to her Cashapp, Zelle, etc are welcomed (because we also go over to Ontário since there are more fabric stores as well as fabric stores online)
*Izzy will need sketch pads to sketch her designs.
*Izzy will need supporters, cheerleaders to be present this time next year, in the audience at Runway!
*Izzy will need to hear from YOU all the prayers, good vibes in whatever spiritual practice you engage in!

I'd been invited by an Elder to participate in a book she was curating about aging well. Although I am at the far beginnings of that journey, one of the things that I discovered in my adult life is that my spiritual journey is not linear, but blossoms as wildflowers and as fluid as Rivers rushing in a multitude of directions. Sometimes spiritually its ok to return to one's roots; even if that means turning and listening to Eggun, Ancestors; healing comes from ritual even if, that looks different from what we are used to.

Now I return back and ruminate about how my journey can be transformed into words.

Good Friday Afternoon.

The work of our consciousness that envelops our heart and very being, can feel as if a burden...and only because, we are moving towards a sustainable sacred space for community that is never valued by agents of the Empire, and the Empire itself.

That's why the Empire's tools can not free us..they are a double edged sword that will pierce us with poision that only the Empire has the pseudo cure, and that keeps us in bo***ge.

Working to build community is laughable in an individualistic, capitalistic mindset and society where climbing any ladder and sacrificing a body, even those of your community is the accepted norm.

Yet; in the midst of all this you will find kindred that share the same love back.

And importante as well, you must love yourself.

This is how I began my day, working out, caring for me...
