2025 11th Annual Michigan State Fair Superstar Competition

There are three stages to this competition: (1) the initial video submission, (2) the Live Audition (during which an original song MUST be performed) and (3) the semi-finals/finals competition.

2025 Video submission deadline: Sunday, July 13th by 11:59pm. Any videos submitted after that day and time may or may not be reviewed by the committee.

2025 Live Audition Dates: by invitation only, July 19 & 20 in Livonia, MI, specifics TBA
(Those auditioning will be asked to bring a printed portfolio of their original lyrics for the judges to review during their audition. Those portfolios will not be returned.)

2025 Contestant Workshop: location TBD, August 9 from 9:00am-3:30pm

2025 Semi-Final Competition Date: August 30, 11:00am-5:00pm
Location: Ascension St. John Providence Main Stage, Michigan State Fair, Novi, MI

2025 Final Competition Date: August 31, 12:00-4:30pm
Location: Ascension St. John Providence Main Stage, Michigan State Fair, Novi, MI

2025 Winning Performance Date (Honorable Mention, Runner-Up, Grand Prize Winner): September 1, 1-5:45pm

Congratulations! We look forward to her reign as State Fair Superstar and can't wait to watch her enjoy her customized artist development package with multi-award winning Detroit artist and Superstar mentor Phoebe Holmes. We know that the EP that comes out of it will be fantastic!

Come see Jessey Adams’ headlining sets at the Michigan State Fair on Labor Day; her first set on the Main Stage is at 4:00pm and her second follows at 5:00pm.

Drum roll, please..............the Runner Up for the 2024 State Fair Superstar contest is: Brothers of Faith (BOF)

Congratulations! This gospel rap duo from Detroit has amazing energy and a fantastic, uplifting message that they love sharing. For those of you who have kept an eye on the contest in the past, you may remember them from 2022, when they received Honorable Mention. 3rd place in 2022, 2nd place in 2024, what will they do next? Keep an eye on this up and coming duo:-).

Come see them on Labor Day! They open for this year's State Fair Superstar with an hour-long set at 2:30pm on the Main Stage at the Michigan State Fair.

Fan voting can award bonus points to each competitor, and is conducted through a QR code/google form unique to each competitor. Each competitor is tasked with engaging their social media presence to spread their unique code.
