If you saw Al Barile's recent posts you know this day was imminent. Al has died. He was a hardcore giant, an inspiration to many. Early innovators like Al never have an easy time, especially at the beginning. Al fought those anti hardcore prejudices. Yet, he created a body of work that will last forever.

Later, it was rewarding to see him get attention and acceptance by Guitar World magazine and induction into the New England Music Hall of Fame.
He had a hard time at the end and even then used his platform to plead for better pain control for all patients. He was trying to change the system for better.
