The single “Inertia” is the first glimpse into Signals from the Stars — Vietnamese Paris-based artist Đ.K.’s upcoming EP, due mid-July on Midgar.

There’s something oddly comforting in the idea of a dead star still sending signals — distant, mechanical, yet somehow filled with meaning. Inertia and the whole record, tap into that contradiction: the sensation of being impossibly far from home, yet still drawn toward something vast, unseen, and filled with memory.

While it feels banal to visually represent a pulsar in space, the idea behind the cover is to change perspective — as if observing time and space passing by from a starship made of stone. The window design draws loosely from sci-fi and art deco / Moebius aesthetic references.

I tried to call at 1pm yesterday, but you didn’t pick up. I thought it wasn’t like you. We were so happy and looking forward to this August to come, excited for you to open Monument Festival. We would have made another wagon full of beautiful memories, adding to the steam train we had built along the way. Since that remix for Wata in 2017, I had the chance to get to know Manuel - the man behind Nuel. You were a sweet, complex and beautiful human being, and I felt we were so similar in many ways, and not surprised much when we found out our birthday was only 2 days apart. Right now I’m in between sad and mad, at how life has been unfair towards you in the last years, and when finally things were taking the best turn, you left us. In the last period especially, you were so prolific! The residency in Norway in April gave you so much great energy and inspirations that you shared with me through your music. Ciao bello mio.

Pareidolia Remixed is out today! Landing in the shops exactly two years after original Ep, marking as well the 11th anniversary of Midgar.

hit EP Pareidolia gets a well deserved remix treatment. The relation between Priori and Midgar started early 2023 with the release of his Pareidolia EP. Two years later, we’re getting a proper treatment by friends and artists close to the label.

We’re anticipating the release of the full EP with sound experimentalist , who takes his turn on Pareidolia’s title track and creates some magnificent eyes-closed drum & bass hypnotism.

This Thursday at .berlino , Midgar x .oslo bring together a gathering of friends and music selections.

We’ll kick off at 6PM with ambient textures, followed by Midgar’s own .ja diving into the label’s signature sound. Second half of the evening in the hands of .bobzin , Berlin-based artist known for his dual project under the name Recorded Future and , fresh off launching her GRACE imprint closes things out till 11pm.
