People don’t often talk about how much dads quietly give up when they head to work.
They slip out the door before little eyes open.

the tiny, magical pieces of everyday childhood.

to take care of their family,

It’s not without a cost.
It stings to miss so much.
But most of the time, they won’t say a word.
