This was a project I was challenged to produce as a final assignment. The challenge was to choose and create my own rendition of a VRBO ad without changing the script.

I decided to leave the video completely intact. I stripped all music and sound effects to raise my own bar. That means I had to choose an appropriate soundtrack, then recreate the sound effects to match the video (the volcano was my favorite!).
I love the production and overall creative side of my work, so I actually enjoyed doing this.
(Yeah, I know — I’m crazy.)

How'd I do?! 😃
Your honest thoughts and critique are always welcome below! ⤵️⤵️
Yeah, FOR REAL!

Voicing copy and bringing words to life isn’t about simply reading them. It’s about giving them direction so you can achieve a goal. Knowing context and intended audience are important.

So, my idea was to show how this can play out by reading the exact same script in 3 very different scenarios. No effects, just voice.
And yeah, having some fun with it! 🤪
So was born—

This one is "This video is for you."
1️⃣- theme park safety video
2️⃣- doctor’s office pre-appointment video
3️⃣- suspense/thriller trailer

So, which do you think I delivered most convincingly?
Let me know in comments. ⤵️⤵️

“One take, Tony!”
Yeah. Ok. 🤣🤣
As usual, no shame- BLOOPERS at the end.
Got a script for me to interpret? Message me with it! 📬

One Script - Three Styles -Voiceover Script Analysis

Creative direction is important. But the creative decisions by the artist are probably even more so, especially in the absence of direction. Or when it’s barely there.
I really enjoyed this project and stretching myself. It went like this:
— here are a few ambiguous lines for a movie trailer
— genre: you decide
— tone: you decide
— characterization: sure. Or not. You decide.
I really wanted to stretch myself and maybe even show some depth in ability. So here are 3 different takes on the exact same lines, each (hopefully) painting a very different scene. 😊
What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts. ⤵️
And if I succeeded, which is your favorite?
1- Action/Thriller
2- Family Fun
3- Romantic/Touching/Heartfelt
Leave it comments! ⤵️

(Also, yes! I will often use stupid dance moves in the booth between flubs and crappy takes. I mean, it’s not ALL work. Right? 🕺🏻👯‍♂️🕺🏼)

I took part in a phenomenal workshop a few weeks ago. Not only did I get some really great feedback and direction, but I was also asked to put together a final project: a MOVIE TRAILER!
Here's the fun part— everyone got the same few lines, but no direction on delivery and no genre for the movie. You call the shots and make the choices! 😃
Requirements called for voiceover and music bed. I pushed the envelope and produced a video with sound effects, music, & voice. Sorry. NOT sorry! 😝
You know I love production in addition to voiceover.
Humbly working on my craft.
How'd I do?! 🙊
You can give me your feedback in comments ⤵️
(This is a spec project. I don't own the video.)

Get ready for a 1m10s rocket ride of over-the-top production!
3 - 2 - 1 - 🚀

Voiceover Artist? YES! 🎙
Producer? ABSOLUTELY!! 🖥⌨️🖱

If we've known each other for some time, you know that I’ve been pushing my boundaries as a Voiceover Artist. Corporate Narrations, IVR, Explainers and e-Learning (or is it Elearning? Or E-learning? Or eLearning?! 🤪) — all genres that I’ve explored and really enjoyed over the years.

But if you know Drop House, you probably remember the beginnings-- Nightlife and Entertainment Imaging and promos have been my niche for-EVER! DJs, Mega-Nightclubs, & entertainment companies kinda dig my vibe. 😋
(thank you!)

Here's a Demo I created a few years back to show some of my favorite pieces. You might even remember hearing some live on the radio.

These are voiced and produced by me at my Drop House Studio. A lot of creative license (a.k.a. “trust”) was given to to me by these clients. And that still happens today when I produce in this genre.
Especially as a creative, I’m humbled and thankful for that.

What's your next project, and how can I make it AWESOME?! 😃

My home. This is Tony Tee Neto's Drop House 🎙

It's not just about the gear. ⠀
It's about the space and how it makes you feel. This is my production home base where I get to record and edit professional voiceovers of all genres, and create audio branding for a diverse set of amazing clients! ⠀
It's not a side-hustle, no offense. ⠀

When I sit here, I'm absolute boss. I feel like I can create anything. ⠀
Literally.⠀

And it's not only because I have state-of-the-art this or that, or because I have X-years of experience (those don't hurt, though).⠀

It's about your mental posture:⠀
- I sit here to create work that matters.⠀
- I sit here to plan business.⠀
- I sit here to be creatively vulnerable.⠀
- I sit here to earn a living doing what I love.⠀
- I sit here to learn. Often.⠀
- I sit here to ... read that last one again. Because you can never know everything. And I definitely don't. ⠀

With the world on tilt for a year now, I've come to see the positive that exists where some see only negative. Where some see an chance to take a pass, others see an opportunity to go all in. ⠀
(Maybe that's a fault of mine, too; I could use a break)⠀
I've spent more time here in the last year than I have in the previous (several) years. Voiceover industry inner workings learned. Long-time clients reconnected. New relationships forged. ⠀
And frightening goals set.⠀

This is a not-so-subtle reminder to self.⠀

And I hope it's encouragement for YOU to propel yourself forward at whatever speed fits.⠀
Thanks sincerely for following the ride, and for supporting what I'm privileged to do. 🙏🏼⠀

And, yeah ... the gear's really nice, too. 🤤🖥⠀

Fun VOCAL WARMUPS for Voiceover Artists, Voiceover Actors, and anyone using their voice professionally, even just on Zoom meetings!

Remember these from when you were a kid?! Well, they’re a fun way to loosen up the tongue and get everything working in sync. Or, not. 🤪
This one’s full of gafs, because like I say— “One take is a myth!”
Enjoy my mistakes, and share away! Put it on your Story and let’s all laugh together.
If you want to save some of these, just Save this post (the little tab on the lower right of the post), and you can come back to it to type them out for yourself!)

Another edition of (behind the mic) as I plow through this fast-paced script for Slice App! It’s a fun challenge as I cram as many words as possible into a tiny timeframe.
Also, I have no shame, so enjoy the flubs, because “one take” is a myth! 🙈😝

😱🔥🚨🔥 But This Really Needs My Attention RIGHT NOW!

"But there are so many OTHER "important" things to do!⠀
I'll get to that one another time ..."⠀

Everything is urgent to us freelancers/entrepreneurs/small business owners. There's a constant flow of so many fires 🔥🚨🔥 to put out, that the big stuff HAS to wait, right?! ⠀
I'm not preaching; I'm pointing at myself, too!⠀

But keeping the big picture at the front of your mind and being aware that you might be doing this, could possibly be the way to push your envelope and get to the actual important stuff that'll move you forward!⠀

I'm working on it myself. 😊 ⠀

This is the last in this batch of my series, as I voice Seth’s blog post “The Why of Urgent vs Important.” ⠀

I hope you find it useful as you set your goals in motion for 2021.⠀
Let me know what you think below. ⤵️ ⠀

I hope I can help you up your game by putting these out, and by voicing something for YOU! Let's connect and create some awesome together! 🙌🏼

And yes, I happen to think wine is both urgent AND important.⠀
Happy New Year! 🍷🍷

Something I've wrestled with as I carved out goals over 2020, is how enormous something can feel. But once you decide, it's a matter of keeping your eye on the prize.

Constantly overthinking (guilty,) and wondering if this is the right way to go (guilty) is a waste of time.⠀

Decide. ✅ ⠀
Map it out. (I'm trying.) ⠀
Commit.⠀

This one's "Drop In" from Seth Godin. I read this one often to stay on track.⠀
I hope you'll watch all the way to the end and give it a ❤️ ⠀

In an upcoming video, I'll talk about that feeling of enormity and how completely overwhelming that can feel. ⠀

Happy to lend my voice to help you LEVEL UP.⠀
Narration, explainer, commercial, or e-learning voiceover? Let's connect and create some awesome together! 🙌🏼🙏🏼⠀

Thanks for following.⠀
Ya feeling that t-shirt? 👕 😃

22/12/2020

I get stuck on enormity. Do you?
Sometimes, the goal is so large that I can’t see the path to reach it. This post made me realize that I’m not the only one, and that the way to get there is to create smaller goals and milestones.
These feel doable. Attainable.
And so I internalized Seth Godin’s phrase “Drip by drip, with commitment.”

Here’s another video from my series as I interpret Seth’s blog post “Stuck on Enormity.”

Maybe it’ll help you move forward, too. 😊
Let me know in comments, if so. ⬇️

I hope I can help you level up for the new year.

Do you find yourself saying, "I could've, would've, should've" too often? 😏
Yeah, you’re not alone.

Picking up on last week's theme, let's set priorities and "make time" for them! Do the hard stuff and break routines that aren't working.

Yep, sounds easy on paper. But it's tough to make big changes and put in the time.
It's tough to set aside the distractions that let us off the hook and make us comfortable ... and often unproductive.

In this quick video, I'll read a post from Derek Sivers, "Where to Find the Hours to Make It Happen."
(as always, silly stuff at the end 🤪🤗🤬)

Hopefully, his words resonate with you, too.
And if I can help you move forward via my voice, then I'm glad to lend it to you.
If you need a narration, explainer, commercial, or e-learning voiceover, let's connect and create some awesome together! 🙌🏼🙏🏼

Thanks for following the journey. ✈️ ✈️
Also, nice mug & t-shirt combo, right?? ☕️ 👕 ☺️

This year has been ... challenging. 😏
As we wind down 2020, I thought to voice some of my favorite blog posts that have kept me motivated and focused on my own "big picture" ... even when I got a little deflated. You'll get a little behind-the-scenes out of the vocal booth.
And since I have no shame, stay tuned for the OUTTAKES. 🤪

In this quick video, I'll read "Steal The Time From Comfort" from Seth Godin. I hope it works for you to GET MOVING!

I hope I can voice something for you some day.
Thanks for watching!

It's that time of year! 👻🎃👺
Pushing my own boundaries has been a theme for me in 2020! Then again, it's been kind of a stretch for ALL of us. 🤪
Sharing the reading of a short story I did simply to see if I could. It's creepy and is a Zombie story, so ... Happy Halloween!
