The Palestinian Prisoners' Society warned of escalating attempts to kill Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, inside Israeli prisons, saying he has been subjected to systematic torture, medical neglect, and harsh detention conditions aimed at physically and psychologically exhausting him. It said his transfer to the "Rakevet" wing of Nitzan Prison, which is known for reports of torture, isolation, and denial of medical care, marks a dangerous escalation, urging the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and international human rights organizations to take immediate action to protect him and secure the release of him and other detained Palestinian medical personnel.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in more than 110 French cities to demand stronger protection for survivors of sexual violence and reforms to the justice system, following the r**e and murder of 11-year-old Liana, a crime that shocked the country. Protesters condemned the widespread impunity for perpetrators, noting that 94% of r**e complaints are dismissed without judicial action. The demonstrations also cited a government report showing that 70% of child sexual abuse cases receive no further investigation for physical evidence after suspects are questioned, prompting renewed calls for comprehensive legislation to strengthen prevention, accountability, and victim protection.

Human Rights Watch has accused Turkmenistan’s authorities of intensifying a systematic crackdown targeting journalists, human rights defenders, and dissidents both inside and outside the country through arbitrary detention, enforced disappearances, and harassment in exile, in a broad violation of the rights to freedom of expression and assembly.The organization said that Turkmenistan engages in “transnational repression” to pursue dissidents abroad, pressure their families, and deprive them of any sense of safety even outside the country.
