Illegal mining, also known as galamsey, has destroyed our lands, polluted our rivers, and taken away many people’s livelihoods. But the fight to stop it seems slow and full of administrative delays . Should the decision to declare a state of emergency be left only to the National Security Council, or should the President step in and act now to protect our environment?
