Let’s have a trip down memory lane.
- ‘The Rite of Spring’ - pictured with (to this day) one of bestest friends Clare!
This has to be one of my favourite ballets and one of the most revolutionary works in the history of music and dance. I have many a story of my journey through the process of this ballet - but the year 1913 probably has the best!

💥 Premiere and Scandal

The 1913 premiere caused one of the most notorious riots in performance history.
The music’s violent rhythms, dissonant harmonies, and unconventional choreography shocked audiences expecting something more traditional.
Some cheered, others booed and fought; it became a defining moment in modern art.

🎵 Musical Innovations

Stravinsky broke nearly every rule of traditional composition:
Complex, irregular rhythms and changing meters (e.g., 2/16, 3/8, 5/16 within a few bars)
Polyrhythms and polytonality
Extreme orchestral colors (bassoon solo in high register, massive percussion)
Driving, primitive energy evoking ritual and chaos

But who is the proudest??!! Swipe to see! ❤️

Here is a ballet coach whose experience, passion, and dedication runs so deep, they scarcely realise how truly special they are — or how fortunate others are to learn from them.
Life is so busy and this half term has been nothing short of a whirlwind… but it’s that moment when you sit back and watch and take in the entire process from start to finish that you are reminded how lucky they are to be guided by someone so invaluable.

I was so proud to sit and watch these girls on Monday . Over the past six weeks, they have truly soared — and for that, I can only thank Andrus. His attention to detail, kindness, and unwavering dedication to pushing them forward has made all the difference.

Progress takes time, but with the right guidance, every dancer has the potential to grow into something extraordinary.
We’re proud, as teachers, to cultivate not only skilled technicians, but also artists who truly love what they do. Our years and years of experience, both on and off the stage is our super strength to guide and support you in your journey.

When I look back on the year we spent with to where she is now, the training we provided for her wasn’t just a cycle of learning and practicing steps on repeat - it was the space and time for her to grow as a dancer in a relaxed yet motivating and supportive environment - building on her strong foundations, encouraging healthy habits and nurturing her artistic confidence. After all… as a wise teacher once said to me -
“It’s not about being the best today — it’s about showing up, staying consistent, and growing every day.”

And that we can do for you too!
