FREED Magazine FREED Magazine consists of a group of believers who have come together to propel all people to live in freedom. John 8:36 (NLT)

We are FREED to love, to have joy, to impact our culture, freed to forgive freed to have hope, to be exactly who God has called us to be. We believe that if we come together as men and women of God we will see healing, empowerment, and freedom to this generation. So if the Son (Jesus) sets you free, you are truly FREE.

“There’s a moment in everyone’s life when they realize they’re not truly living. For me, that moment didn’t come until my mid-20s. Up until that point, I thought I was just a little shy, just introverted, just careful. But deep down, I was living afraid. I didn’t fully understand what anxiety was back then and as a Christian that word was taboo, if I’m honest. I had heard the word, sure—but what I didn’t know was that I had been battling it my entire life. It was more than nerves. It was more than butterflies. It was a deep, soul-stirring fear that gripped me so tightly I often couldn’t breathe when I needed to show up in the world.”

Here’s something I’ve learned the hard way more times than I would like to admit-

You cannot be more ambitious than you are surrendered to God. Your desire to have, do, or be more cannot overshadow your obedience to God. If it is not happening within your timeframe, then you have to trust that God’s timing is best. If God gave you a ‘no’, it’s not for you to try to force it to be a
‘yes’. It’s for you to trust that God’s ‘no’ is protective and a part of God’s providential direction for your life.

I recently saw a post (I cannot recall the origin of the post) that said, “When you understand that God is never late, you wait differently.” Similarly, I think when you understand that God is never wrong, you accept His ‘no’ or ‘not yet’ differently.

Don’t get yourself out of alignment with God’s will, trying to force something outside of His timing, or something He never had for you to begin with. Trust in God’s word and His nature. Trust that He has good things set aside for you, even if they differ from what you think you want or need.

Happy Tuesday Freed family!

Throughout this month we have shared a lot about what the journey to freedom requires. But we’d be lying to you if we didn’t share with you the KEY to freedom.

Proverbs 4:25 says “Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”

This is the key friends. Eyes on Jesus.

When the world begs you to look elsewhere, make the decision to gaze upon the only One worthy. When the world shouts that you should be “grinding”, creating a path for yourself, or working till sundown; fix your eyes on the One who doesn’t slumber.

He’s got you.

Do you believe it? Will you embrace it?

The choice is always yours🖤

Happy Thursday friends!

We’re still talking about walking out the journey of freedom here at FREED and our friend Tamara South recently shared her testimony on our substack.

Tamara talks about her su***de attempts and how God can transform every negative experience in our lives into one that works out for our good.

Be encouraged today, what the enemy meant for evil God will turn it around for good and soon what seemed like a mess will be your testimony. Be patient, don’t lose heart, and don’t lose focus. This journey is worth it!

On the journey to freedom you must accept that it’s okay to walk away from the version of you “they” thought you would be, to be all that God says you already are.

Because when you do, you’ll realize how much time and energy was wasted on pleasing a crowd you weren’t even called to in the first place.

And that my friend, is just the truth. So let’s choose freedom today and every day!🙌🏾

“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
-Galatians 1:10 (ESV)

Happy Monday Freed Family!

Can we be honest? The journey to freedom can often be a lonely one. It is often marked by the decision to heal, the conviction to move forward, and the frequent reminders that you are in a season of deep transition.

Everything is changing IN and around you.

In Deuteronomy chapter 31 the Israelites are on a journey and Moses realizes he will not be crossing over into the promised land with them. He introduces Joshua as the new leader and assures the Israelites that God’s unwavering presence will go with them, defeating their enemies.

He says “Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.”

The word “with” conveys an intimate company. It is the idea that as you walk, you are surrounded. As you journey through deep waters, you are safe and secure. And as you climb new heights, you are anything but alone.

Moses knew how to encourage the Israelites because he had experienced the closeness of the God he spoke of. It was this same God who had encountered him in a burning bush and spoke to him face to face (Exodus 33:11).

And it is the same God who is with you, beside & behind you, and ahead of you that reassures you today.

The God of the universe is on the journey with you. You can trust Him with the details of your journey. You can trust Him to lead you to freedom. You can trust Him to turn things around for your good. You can trust Him not to waste the pain. You can trust Him to wipe every tear and make every crooked path straight.

Be encouraged friend, God has not forsaken you. And He won’t start now.

Happy Friday Freed Family!

May is Mental Health Awareness month and this month we are discussing the “Journey to freedom.”

Our freedom is directly tied to that which we believe and when we choose to embrace truths that align with who we are as God’s children, we make progress towards a healthier self.

What truth are you giving yourself permission to embrace as you continue to make progress towards complete freedom?

What will you choose to speak over yourself when dark times come?

Comment below what truth you’re embracing today and share one with a friend! You never know how a simple word can help shift someone’s day!
