Here’s something I’ve learned the hard way more times than I would like to admit-
You cannot be more ambitious than you are surrendered to God. Your desire to have, do, or be more cannot overshadow your obedience to God. If it is not happening within your timeframe, then you have to trust that God’s timing is best. If God gave you a ‘no’, it’s not for you to try to force it to be a
‘yes’. It’s for you to trust that God’s ‘no’ is protective and a part of God’s providential direction for your life.
I recently saw a post (I cannot recall the origin of the post) that said, “When you understand that God is never late, you wait differently.” Similarly, I think when you understand that God is never wrong, you accept His ‘no’ or ‘not yet’ differently.
Don’t get yourself out of alignment with God’s will, trying to force something outside of His timing, or something He never had for you to begin with. Trust in God’s word and His nature. Trust that He has good things set aside for you, even if they differ from what you think you want or need.
