After a rather long hiatus, here is a new episode of The Wells of Tanit!

*Episode Twelve - Feathered*, recorded at the Pou d’Aubarqueta well near San Miguel, in the North of Ibiza, is now available to listen via ITunes, Spotify and Audioboom.

When we tune our ears into the song of the feathered ones, which messages do they have to offer us? From our starting point of the Pou d’Aubarqueta, a gleaming white, egg-shaped well, an unusual journey begins….

With the help of three local Ibizan bird companions, and the incredibly rich folklore, myths and meanings attached to them, we attempt to mend our broken wings and return to the skies…. I hope you enjoy the ride.

Episode Eleven: Camino is now available to listen,
wherever you get your podcasts.

It is dedicated to the dirt caminos of Ibiza, to the stories buried within them, and to the souls who passed along them. It is also dedicated to the road of life upon which we all walk.

This episode is a mighty 1hr 40minutes long - it’s the equivalent of a slow journey by horse and cart from San Vicente to Vila in the days before they built the asphalt roads...

Included in the episode are conversations with two great Ibiza-based artists and thinkers, theatre-maker Celia Ruiz and Romanie, and the evocative, stirring soundscapes of Edinburgh-based musician and artist, Burnt Paw… also, a chat with an old school friend, Clare, with whom I’ve walked along the camino of life since I was about 12 years old.

The Wells of Tanit is a new English language podcast celebrating the culture, folklore, history, mythology and ecology of Ibiza. Each episode will centre around a different theme, explored from playful, off-beat, philosophical, historical and poetical perspectives. Through these musings at the island’s wells, we will delve right into the heart of the island of Ibiza, and see beyond its misleading masks as a ‘hedonistic’ party island and mass tourism destination.

Episode One of the monthly podcast launches on June 17th, and will be available via Audioboom and Itunes. Subsequent episodes will be published on the full moon of each month, following the course of a year.
