Starting to harvest broad beans ,courgette and potatoes on our Cornish allotment.

Really pleased with the wild area, letting the grasses grow has encouraged lots of Insect life and wild flowers. A lovely contrast from the spuds!

Taming the wilderness up on the Cornish allotment , after such a cold spring everything seems to be flourishing . Vaseline seems to have deterred the slugs and snails in the tubs but water is the issue, so it’s back down to the cottage to fill up the milk bottles !

Busy time on the Cornish allotment, spuds are up, beans and courgettes going in. Carrots and radishes sown and broad beans looking promising. We’re trialing Vaseline around the tops of the tubs to keep the slugs and snails away and lining the raised beds with cardboard.

Getting ready for winter up on the Cornish allotment, shed painting, covering the plots and digging up the last of the spuds. We also planted lots more daffodil bulbs.

Lovely day on our Cornish allotment, adding two fruit trees and starting to dig the plots ready for planting potatoes etc in April ,the spring border looks lovely and the blue balls are on their way.

Second fruit tree in, transplanted from a windy area of the allotment. Cooking apple we’ve christened Mrs Appleby, I just hope she gets on with Connie! More under planting with daffs too.

Planted our first fruit tree as part of our re wilding project on our Cornish allotment under planting with Cornish daffodils in hopes for a beautiful spring. Budleas full of butterflies today.

Bunked off work to spend a lovely afternoon on the allotment, planning ,to plant lots of Cornish daffodils. Christmas spuds looking good and also the weird Lilly that appears every year.

Lovely day up on our Cornish allotment rescuing it from two lock downs. Thank goodness for strimmers, Nicola has got it off to a fine art. Pleased to see apples and agapanthus still in flower. The butterflies are loving the buddleas we planted, they were only small twigs transplanted from our garden, now 7ft tall ! And we’re putting in a few seed potatoes in hopes for Christmas.
