“Otsukimi was my first outdoor camping festival, and I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. From the moment I arrived until my set, everything felt so warm and intentional. Otsukimi literally means “moon viewing,” and fittingly, it was a full moon that night, I tried to channel all that energy into the moment. Grateful to Daisuke and Keita for taking such good care and for letting me be part of something so special.” -

REC004 features Midnight Traffic, live at Otsukimi Open Air in Japan.

Recorded a couple of months ago among the mountains and mist of Itoigawa, Otsukimi embodied Japan’s deep reverence for nature and sound, bringing together a close-knit community of artists, dancers, and creators — a reflection of its deep listening culture.

True to his form, Midnight Traffic delivered a journey both hypnotic and human — connecting the floor through tension, release, and emotional gravity. The set moves through rhythmic hypnosis and delicate restraint, capturing the evolving mood of an open-air dance floor in full flow.
