The State of Israel has attacked the Islamic Republic of Iran. Unlike the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the air strikes of the Zionist terror state has not received massive rejection among the hypocritical western imperialist world. Worse, the western imperialists keep claiming that Israel has the ”right to defend itself” while murdering almost 77.000 Palestinians in the Gaza Stripe and now killing 243 Iranians, including scientists and top military commanders in their civilian houses. Israel has made it clear that it does not want to end their strikes, they want regime change and remove the ruling government in Teheran.

Despite the bombastic rhetoric of Donald Trump, the trade tariffs he imposed have not resulted in a American manufacturing boom. Leftists warned that the tariffs will not create jobs, they will force companies out of the USA and move their production work even more out of the ”Land of the Free”. Now after six months of Donald Trump we see the results of his protectionist regime. Jobs are not moving back to the USA, more jobs are getting outsourced to countries like China.

The Dutch cabinet has fallen. Dick Schoof lost his majority in the Dutch House of Representatives on 3 June. Schoof was the prime minister since 2 July 2024 and led a right-wing coalition between far-right nationalists, liberals, conservatives and agrarian populists. The far-right Party for Freedom (PVV) of Geert Wilders, was the largest party in the government and it was this ”party” that choose to abandon the cabinet, after the coalition partners of the PVV refused to implement far-right ideas concerning migration, borders and the deportation of Syrians.

Since 7 October 2023. the State of Israel has killed over 75.379 Palestinians. Most were murdered the Gaza Stripe, which has been reduced to rubble by the Israeli Destruction Forces (IDF). This state-terrorism and genocide against the Palestinian people is only possible, thanks to the massive political and military support the far-right Netanyahu government is receiving from American and European governments. Yet, there is a turning point. Although the capitalist governments all keep supporting Netanyahu, more and more working class people turn on the State of Israel.

The Portuguese left-wing has been defeated in the elections. Right-wing forces played massively on identity politics and populism, they were able to defeat the left-wing. Not only the Socialist Party lost votes, but also the Portuguese Communist Party and the Left Bloc. This right-wing victory can be explained by the fact that the left-wing failed to provide workers and poor with a clear anti-capitalist socialist alternative. Social-democrats have been in power often, never chancing the nature of Portuguese capitalism. Due to the Stalinist two stage theory, the communist party keeps its propaganda moderate and not revolutionary. Meanwhile the far-right is growing into a force that might one day become part of a right-wing government.

On the 5 of May 1945, N**i Germany surrendered to the western allied forces. Stalin however wanted a surrender in the east too. So on 8 May, N**i Germany surrendered fully in Berlin. 80 years have now past and the world is not much better off. Far-right ideas are no longer taboo. Worse they are tolerated and even praised as far-right forces have grown as a cancer on the world. This is because of capitalism and the inability of bourgeois politicians to end the suffering of working class people.

On 30 April 1975, tanks of the People's Army of Vietnam under the flag of the National Liberation Front, captured Saigon, the capital of the Republic of Vietnam. This marked the end of the Vietnam War that started in 1941 between the imperialist forces and nationalist forces. Ho Chi Minh led the Stalinist nationalists against the capitalist imperialists of France, Japan and the USA, who installed puppet regimes to serve their needs in south east Asia.

Peter Taaffe, the former General Secretary of Militant, Militant Labour and the Socialist Party in England and Wales has died on 23 April 2025. Taaffe was a revolutionary socialist activist, leader and writer. He wrote many books including; ”1926 general strike workers take power”, ”a socialist world is possible – history of the CWI”, ”empire defeated – Vietnam War the lessons for today”, socialism and left unity – a critique of the socialist workers party”, ”Cuba – socialism and democracy” and many more.

Since 7 October 2023, the (terror) State of Israel has murdered 65.000 Palestinians. Yet the Zionist state is still fully supported by the American and European governments. The mass murder would not have been possible win-out the massive subsidies the State of Israel receives. mainly from the U.S taxpayer. By now the state terror machine that is the ”Israeli Destruction Army”, has murdered more people then the Islamic Resistance (HAMAS) or the Party of God (HEZBOLLAH). Israel should be under massive internation sanctions but is not, because it is protected by western imperialism and therefore free to kill Palestinians!

25 year old, Bogdan Syrotiuk is a Ukrainian revolutionary of the Young Guard of Bolshevik-Leninists, a Trotskyist youth group. Like many Trotskyists, Syrotiuk opposes Russian imperialism and the attempts of Moscow to conquer Ukraine. But unlike many western style democrats, Syrotiuk also rejects the Ukrainian government and state, which he denounces as capitalist and not in the service of the Ukrainian working class. Since 22 February 2022, Ukraine is under martial law. The capitalist government uses the martial law to imprison anybody they declared to be ”loyal to Moscow”. Last year, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) arrested Bogdan Syrotiuk. For 12 months now he is held in a SBU prison and his health has declined. Ukrainian prisons are bad and prisoners are not getting proper treatment.

Ukraine is portrayed by the western media as this ”democratic nation” fighting evil Russia. Many politicians and supporters of president Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy say they ”defend democracy and freedom” against Russian tyranny. However the reality is not so black and white. The Ukrainian government is also using the war to crack down on those who reject the capitalist system. Since April 2024, Bogdan Syrotiuk is held by the Security Service of Ukraine. They have now charged him with treason under martial law. Syrotiuk is an opponent of the capitalist Ukrainian state and opposes Russian imperialism. Yet Zelenskyy declared that any opposition to his government means ”supporting Russia”.

The militaristic North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) will have its summit in Den-Haag, the Netherlands on 24 to 25 June 2025. The Kingdom of the Netherlands is one of the most loyal NATO puppets, its capitalist leaders have always subjugated itself to the interests of the western imperialist alliance. This started in 1949, when the social-democratic government under Willem Drees joined the alliance to defend capitalism against the ”communist” (Stalinist) world. Now in 2025, the drums of militarism are played again. Billions in dollars and euro’s are demanded from Mark Rutte, the former prime minister of the Netherlands and new NATO boss. Rutte once cut military spending, but now demands billions from working class families, to pay for the imperialist rivalry between the west and the east.
