Snow certainly fell overnight Thursday into Friday but settling snow was restricted to areas above around 200m across the Forest.

As mentioned, it was a very tricky forecast with the timing of rain turning to snow, and whether snow was going to be heavy enough to cause issues.

I will update the 'Forest Elevations' list to include those locations that people mentioned!

Rain tonight and into tomorrow will mark the end of this cold spell, with much milder temperatures expected next week.

Rain will likely turn sleety through this afternoon into the evening. Over higher parts of the forest (200m+)snow is more likely with the likelihood of 5-10cm+ possible. There could also be accumulations at slightly lover levels 3-5cm below 200m.

There is a lot of uncertainty still around this, there could quite easily be nothing more than slush by morning!

Things are dependent on how much cold air gets mixed in with the storm system and how far north the system itself sits!

Possiblity for some snow tomorrow night but a very uncertain picture - detailed forecast will be issued tomorrow afternoon.

6pm onwards is when the risk starts - don't be fooled by rain tomorrow, this could turn to snow and give significant accumulations - but equally, could also be a sleety mix!
