💬 “WHO would you PRIORITIZE — your spouse, your kids, or your mother?”
My boys asked me this one day — curious minds, big hearts, and growing wisdom.
Without blinking, I said:
“Your spouse.” ❤️
👶 Because children grow up.
👵 Mothers grow old.
But the partner you choose — that’s your anchor through it all.
🏠 Empty nest.
🌅 Sunset years.
🛋️ Quiet nights.
In the end, it’s still just the two of you.
That’s how you protect a marriage.
That’s how you outlast the world.
🎶 “You and I will travel far together…”
🎵 A simple song I used to sing to their dad — especially during the quiet, tender moments of our marriage… and even more so when he got sick.
☀️ This morning, after a beautiful catch-up with two of my dearest leaders from 🇨🇦 Canada and 🇺🇸 the U.S., I felt moved to share this piece of my heart.
💻🌍 Yes, we talked business.
But more than that, we talked life. Love. Loss. Marriage.
And all the sacred spaces in between.
🫶🏻 This song? It’s not just a melody.
It’s a memory.
It’s a reminder of the kind of love that endures — beyond the chaos of parenting, beyond the noise of life, through the slow and quiet years.
A love that *keeps choosing* each other.
👰♀️🤵♂️ And one day, when my boys find their life partners, I’ll be the kind of mother-in-law who loves *with open arms* —
who chooses to support their love, not compete with it.
Because loving my sons means loving who they love.
Fully. Without condition. 💗
🙋♀️ Today, I celebrate all kinds of love —
💑 Husbands and wives.
👫 Partners in life and in purpose.
💍 Those who stay, choose, fight… and choose again.
💛 Here’s to your person.
Your anchor.
Your forever travel companion.
🎤 Sing this with me…
