FARO 082DLPX Marcos Valle - Contrasts 11.07.25 ◉ OUT on Far Out Recordings ◉ An album deeply intertwined with the early days of the Nova Planet Radio Show. Marcos Valle’s ‘’Contrasts’’ and especially the track “Que Que Tem” received heavy airplay on the show and RODON FM 95. Its cover, with an epicentre graphic and Marcos Valle on one side, proves this isn’t just a legendary piece of the past, but one of the most important musicians ever, an epicentre.

The album's production gently blends the roots of Brazilian music with the contemporary ‘Brazilectro’ scene. Its remixes extend this vision into future jazz and beyond. Live instrumentation and classic Brazilian musical elements merge with Roc Hunter’s fresh ideas and Marcos’ unique vocals, layered effortlessly over the rhythms.

NT167 FOTU (Fabrication of the Underground) Series 1 04.07.25 ◉ OUT on Nylon Recordings/Nylon Trax ◉ A glorious collection of the most underground tracks from Nylon Trax, that fully deserves a second life, especially its earlier gems alongside more recent releases. Revisiting these tracks, I find myself drawn again and again to K Civ's hypnotic 'paper moon' bass reminiscent of his ''Morph'' on its Original Mix Another standout is IndySoul’s “Experiment File No. 1” which taken from his mesmerizing Afro-Latin deep house album ‘’The Journey’’. The soulful, intergalactic energy of DJ Spinna’s remix of Jaymz Nylon Godfather of Afro Tech/DJ/Producer’s early self-titled 12” release remains irresistible, a timeless track I can't escape from my repeat mode. Stefano Bonaiuti’s “Mariacheros” also stands out, with its bouncy Afro-Latin rhythm and beautiful simplicity. The breakdowns, trumpet flourishes, and guitar riffs turn the track into a vivid, multi-colored kaleidoscope of sound. And of course, I still love the pure, 100% Jaymz Nylon Afrotech vibe on his remix of Atlantic Deep’s “The Truth”, a perfect example of hhis signature spirit. - DJ Nova Nov(A)voN ♫

FARO 251 Azymuth - Marca Passo 06.06.25 ◉ OUT on Far Out Recordings ◉ ''Sharing that early '80s cross-dimensional global-synth energy like on their first Digital Single "Fantasy '82", this album also leans into a folkier direction with the Ayers-esque Brazilian chill-out of "Belenzinho", all backed by their signature subtle percussion that gives everything a live studio jam feel. ‘’Marca Passo’’ sounds like one of Azymuth's best albums to date, even without Bertrami and Conti involved.The ambient-leaning, Brazilian-soothing folk of "Criancas Valente" also floats in that early '80s space and stands out as one of the album's best moments, somewhere between Marcos Valle and Leon Lowman. That same Leon Lowman-esque vibe echoes in the first Digital Single "Andarai", leaving you wondering who inspired who... But you already know the answer. Tracks like "Andarai", the title cut "Marca Passo" and the pure Azymuthian "O Mergulhador" bring the dancefloor energy, alongside a heartfelt tribute to their late member with "Samba Pro Mamao". And closing this review I have not to forget to mention that it's easy to get lost in the deep bass magic of "Togu" and the beautifully reworked "Last Summer in Rio" too.
