Jon Mann. Ring a bell? No? Well, it should.

Fun fact: the screenwriter behind Sweetie,yes, that Sweetie, is none other than Jon Mann from New Brunswick (no funswick is fun). And no, film isn’t just a quirky little side gig for Jon. Especially horror. This was his third horror flick involving kids. Because apparently, nothing says “career growth” like traumatizing others with children on screen.

His first collaboration with Taylor Olson? That was Sweetie, back when it was supposed to be a heartwarming Christmas movie. But surprise! It mutated into a horror film. Because why spread holiday cheer when you can spread holiday fear?

Canada’s history is complex and deeply painful, and it is essential that we confront this reality together. This film sought to tell a story with themes of identity and reflection, and we hope it continues to contribute to a larger conversation of understanding and healing.
