You know what time it is.
This week’s Friday Beer is a fun one: Two Scoops — a honeycomb ice-cream stout from BrewDog in Scotland, clocking in at 7%. Haven’t tried it yet, but the label alone basically whispers “dessert first.” Honeycomb, vanilla, roasted malt… sounds like someone turned a milkmaid’s daydream into a stout.

You know what time it is!
Winter Red IPA from Destihl is back on the radar — a 6.5% Red IPA loaded with Columbus, Warrior, Cascade, Simcoe and Chinook. I actually tried this one last year, and I’m really hoping it’s just as fantastic as I remember it. Soon I’ll find out together with the Brew Crew.

This week’s is Mantra IPA from the Spanish crew over at SOMA Beer — a 6% hazy New England IPA hopped with Krush, Citra, and Kohatu.

Tropical fruit leads the way here. Mango, ananas, lime, maybe even a bit of white pepper and rosemary if you slow down enough to notice.

I haven’t had much from SOMA before, but this one’s got some buzz behind it. Described as juicy, soft, and full-bodied — the kind of beer that doesn’t shout, but still grabs your attention.

You know what time it is.

This week’s is Big Eagle — a 6.4% West Coast IPA from Brew York in the UK.

It’s been around since 2020, took home gold at the SIBA awards, then disappeared… only to return, bigger and bolder. I haven’t cracked it yet, but the can promises bitter hops, grapefruit, pine, and a touch of mango and sponge cake.

A proper Westie, by the look of it.

Anyone here tried Big Eagle before? Or got a go-to West Coast IPA recommendation?

You know what time it is.

This week’s is The Redemption Brew — my very own Halloween creation. 🎃
A bright, pumpkin-inspired Amarillo ale, born from the ashes of a failed experiment… and somehow, it actually turned out great.

Light DME, roasted pumpkin purée, a touch of orange zest, and a double hit of Amarillo hops — fruity, smooth, and a little bit spooky.

No spices. No gimmicks. Just a clean, citrusy ale that almost never existed.

Because when your first idea is fermenting beer inside a pumpkin, you kind of need a redemption arc.

So yeah — this Friday, I’m celebrating Halloween with the beer that saved the special.
Cheers to persistence, pressure fermentation, and bad ideas that lead to good ones. 🍻

You know what time it is!

This week’s is Chasing Shadows — a 6.5% hazy IPA brewed by Two Flints in collaboration with DEYA, straight out of the UK.

Haven’t tasted it yet, but this one promises a lot: mango, passion fruit, orange zest, dried pineapple… and somewhere in the background, sponge cake and rosemary. That’s a bold combo. Either beautifully balanced, or one of those beers that makes you question your life choices.

But hey — it’s Friday. Perfect time to find out.
