FARMCORE. Rainbow rails an old feeding trough through lens in our new publication “Róidín”. Róidín captures the DIY culture of skateboarding, but rather than in towns and cities its focus is on rural Ireland. This issue weaves a story about public spaces in our countrysides and how DIY spaces are lost and found over time, from abandoned handball alleys to disused barns being reimagined. “Róidín” (ro-Jean) is an old Irish word for a small road. This publication captures a year of skating, travelling & DIY’ing through rural Ireland. Attempting to keep the lens on spaces outside of the usual towns and cities, we built and met dozens of people on our travels and pieced together a story of dereliction, abandonment but also about communities reclaiming of space through building skate spots, raves, boy racers and more. Over the last number of years Goblin has consistently produced magazines covering the skate scene and beyond, but this issue delves solely into a story made up of a series of excursions onto the back roads of Ireland and the people we met and learned from along the way. We have been in touch over the past few weeks with the about a project together. As the museum have recently begun to document Irish skateboarding, we have been thinking about ways to collaborate. Starting this year we will be focusing issues #8 on a series of travels around rural Ireland, trying to capture as much skateboarding outside of towns and cities as possible. The majority of these trips will be during events taking place throughout the year ( see the calendar ) as well as some aimless drives to look for spots. If you have any in mind, DM us! Here are some images from of the OX. Bruce’s view of taking a skateboard to everything and anything is an inspiration for this project, bígí linn.

Yesterday marked the first All-Ireland in years, and what a day it was! Massive thanks to everyone who made it happen. From the sponsors, judges, chefs, helping hands, skateboarders, mammys n daddy’s, everyone put in a fantastic shift. We’re not only looking forward to more All-Ireland competitions but also to growing skateboarding across the country with more events, sessions, and community projects. A big shout out to for hosting us, there are far too few indoor skateparks in Ireland and the entry fee’s from yesterday go directly towards keeping lights on and doors open, so be sure to keep supporting them. And to everyone who donated to the Gofundme for the cash prizes and all the sponsors that donated product, your generosity brought smiles to so many faces! Got clips or photos from the day? Send them our way! DM us so we can document these events as we go forward! Here are some shots from of the day. Edits are on the way! Keep an eye on our website for rankings and winners on the day.
