GDC Leader Mamma Kandeh Dismisses Coalition Rumours, Reaffirms Party’s Independence

Amid swirling speculation about a possible alliance with President Barrow’s NPP, GDC leader Mamma Kandeh has firmly denied any ongoing or planned coalition talks. In a recent statement, Kandeh emphasized that the GDC remains a fully independent party, committed to its founding principles of national development, peace, and unity. While open to dialogue with any political party—including the NPP—Kandeh made clear that no formal approach has been made by Barrow, and no alliance will happen without the consent of the GDC executive or the knowledge of the Gambian people. Urging discipline and mutual respect in politics, Kandeh called on supporters to remain focused and reject baseless rumours.
