Playful Sound is the one of the many creations of artistic master mind Danny Wild. Broadcasting weekly on 2xx 98.3fm Canberra, Danny explores deep moods, euphoric grooves and obscure dance music showcasing a wide range of disco, boogie, house, techno, new age, ambient, psychedelic, garage, new wave, no wave and focusing heavily on Australian releases.
With regular DJ slots at Hippo Co, Lucky’s, Polish White Eagle Club, the ANU Art School Ball and this year supporting the likes of Pender Street Steppers, Danny has become one of the go-to DJ’s in the ACT.
Originally hailing from Melbourne’s west, 2012 saw Danny quickly make his musical presence known in Canberra launching Moontown Tapes & Records and holding down his DJ residency at H***y Tonks.
Much more than a DJ, he is a audio hardware enthusiast, getting busy creating left-field house and ambient works under aliases such as Odlaw, Palace Window, Low Flung, Calico Cat and improv hardware techno duo, Cold Emotion.
Breaking down typical dance music stereotypes, Danny never plays it safe, keeping dances on there toes anticipating the next hot wax obscurity.
