The official page of Cult Metal Classics re-issue record label. Manos Koufakis and Chris Papadatos released the CD of the U.S. The rest is history.

CULT METAL CLASSICS started in May, 2001 when 2 collectors and metal fans decided to set up their own label in order to re-release their favorite albums from the past. metallers VALHALLA at first and a lot of additional re-issues followed in the next years. In 2004, Kostas Organopoulos joined the team. By the time of the ELIXIR "The Idol" re-issue, Chris Papadatos decided to leave the label and co

ncentrate on his successful record store running bussiness. Kostas Organopoulos joined in and CULT METAL CLASSICS was bought by SONIC AGE RECORDS and was decided to keep going as the re-issue and special editions branch of SONIC AGE RECORDS. Through the years, CULT METAL CLASSICS gained a high status among collectors and metal fans and our re-issues are considered to be among the most deluxe in the metal circles. We promise to keep going strong and release only quality heavy metal from the past on our roster.

📢 Dear friends and partners,

This morning we had an unfortunate incident: a fire broke out in our warehouse. The most important thing, and what truly mattered to all of us,is that everyone is safe. Still, part of the space and a number of products were damaged or completely lost.

Since early in the morning we’ve been on-site, trying to understand the full extent of what was affected, speaking with the fire department, our suppliers, and everyone involved so we can get back on our feet as quickly as possible.

Because of the damage, some orders will unfortunately face delays. We’re doing our best to keep disruptions to a minimum, but we want to be honest with you about the situation so you know what to expect.

Thank you for your patience, your support and the many kind messages we’ve already received. It really helps during a moment like this.

Along with HEAVY LOAD, OVERDRIVE, EUROPE, MALMSTEEN and a few more Swedish acts, GOTHAM CITY belong to a special group of bands that are responsible for creating the frenzy for Swedish metal in the 80's. Sometime in the late 80's the band called it quits and we all thought that it would be the end of it.

But in 2025, we received the mind blowing news from the iconic singer of the band, Anders Zackrisson. GOTHAM CITY will return! Yes, you're reading right! GOTHAM CITY (for the moment Mårten Edlund - bass and guitars - and Anders Zackrisson - vocals), entered the studio and re-recorded two of their legendary tracks, "Swords and Chains" and the -previously- demo only "Hang On".

The band will be busy throughout 2026 preparing and recording their come back full length album, so in the meantime in collaboration with Gotham City, we are offering you a special 12'' single entitled "Progression" which is scheduled to be released by the end of the year and will be a great appetizer before the main course arrives. To celebrate the band come back, we prepared this short teaser video, so that you get a taste of what's coming up....HAIL!

GARGOYLE "An Eye For An Eye" - The "lost" EP from 1989!
It was about time for one of the holy grails of U.S. metal from the 80's to finally see the light of day. This is the "lost EP" of GARGOYLE from Portland, Oregon, that was recorded in 1989, exactly one year after the band's legendary same-titled power metal masterpiece. The band entered the studio and recorded 3 songs (penned by the original line-up of the band), with the following line-up: Tim Lachman on vocals, Pat Lachman (the brother of Tim) on bass / guitars, David Kendall on drums that were meant to be part of an upcoming EP that never came to be. All 3 E.P. songs are classic GARGOYLE tunes, which translates to "KILLER U.S. Power Metal at its best" from a band at their peak of their game.

They will be released on limited edition vinyl and CD featuring original artwork by Mark Berryman who also created the previous GARGOYLE designs, remastered sound from the original master tapes, lyrics and great photos / sketches.

Be prepared for the ultimate GARGOYLE release - sadly, the very last one recorded in the 80's by the band, leaving behind one of the greatest “what ifs” in 80s metal.

Imagine a heavier version of RAINBOW and early EUROPE and you'll get an idea how glorious the fantasy metal music of TWILIGHT PROJECT was. This is a reissue of their cult, mega rare only EP that originally came out in 1986, loaded with additional demo songs and live tunes. This is a major upgrade from our long sold out 2015 version on CD, with enhanced sound, additional bonus tracks and even richer content in the booklet.

With the assistance of Janne Stark who handled the whole project we are bringing you lengthy interviews with original band members Claes (vocals) and Mats (guitars), covering the early years of the band as ZARAGON up to the very end of the band as TWILIGHT PROJECT. And for the first you will also get to listen to songs from the band's "lost" '87 demo.

Both the CD and Vinyl versions of this reissue are expected to be released by early November, 2025 so be prepared for a top Swedish Metal edition.
