Exodus 5:9
Give these people harder work to do. That will keep them too busy to pay attention to speeches full of lies.”
Task masters know that busy people have no time for reflection. When our days are filled with activity; we refuse to pause. Our minds and bodies are suffering information and task overload.
Whether it is in work, church, home, and even on vacation; we fill our schedules with so much activity that we enjoy moments but never enjoy life.
Pharoah rejected letting the Hebrews desire to humbly worship G_d. Today, Pharoah is the person in the mirror. We chose to busy ourselves because we don't want to see the truth of dysfunction and deceit in our lives.
In essence, we are rejecting proper worship with G_d because we know that He is not pleased with our disobedience. So, we stay active like Martha with a lot of religion but no relationship.
Yom Kippur is about stripping away the false pieties that has consumed every crevice of our humanity to make us raw before the Holy One of Is'rael to be built on the foundation of His Truth!
If we have planned a lot of good works activity during Yom Kippur; we have completely failed to understand the importance of this day. Let go of the illusions that we are building monuments of glory to G_d through our ministry.
Worship Him in spirit and in truth or suffer the inevitable outcome of refused repentance:
Matthew 7:23
Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’
Give these people harder work to do. That will keep them too busy to pay attention to speeches full of lies.”
