Shocking video footage has emerged from a helicopter rescue operation that went wrong in Cortina d’Ampezzo in the Italian Dolomites.

Emergency crews were responding to an injured 25-year-old hiker at the Falzarego Towers on Saturday, August 22, 2026. As two rescuers guided the woman onto a metal stretcher, it suddenly slipped, causing an emergency doctor to lose her footing and tumble down the mountainside with it.

The doctor fell several meters along the rocky slope before coming to a stop. Both she and the injured hiker were treated at the scene, and neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
