Different holiday souvenirs for different folks.. no bag of Duty Free goodies or knock-off designer t-shirts for Dermot Forde.
No, he bought a Pointilliste foal and four years later, Quilty Queen, now co-owned with Daryl Noble, was crowned the Traditional Irish Horse Association supreme champion with Grace Lumley aboard, at Mullingar Equestrian

"Sometimes in this workaday world, special things happen," said Kate Jarvey, after Colorado Blue's most recent five-star top-three result at Defender Burghley Horse Trials with Austin O'Connor Eventing on Sunday.

Just like how she made the leadrein class at Charleville Agricultural Show extra-special, as it always just happened to coincide with Colorado Blue’s breeder’s birthday 😉 and her 🎂 was divided out amongst the youngsters.

"There are only two things that have moved my life: horses and philanthropy." Read more in this Saturday's Burghley bloodlines feature in The Irish Field. And a little surprise news too. 👌🏻

Photo orders done between 9am-10am each morning, so while looking for one particular pic, found this in the Charleville Agricultural Show album too of Emily Woods and Coco Carel.

What can I say? ❤️ the duns. 🤷‍♀️

Monday Memories: Alfie's Clover is one Burghley specialist bred in the south-east by James Hickey; Cavalier Crystal, bred by Waterford's Tom Horgan, is another. Read about her in next Saturday's Burghley breeding special and did you know, her relative is going to Goresbridge tomorrow 😉🛒💶

Philip Heenan & Clover Hill legacy still seen in Burghley bloodlines as told by James Hickey in the current Breeders 10.

Here's James and wife Helen at Burghley as guests of rider Richard Jones, all pictured with Alfie's Clover (Tajraasi - Aoife's Clover, by Clover Hill), bred in Co. Waterford by James.

Seventh at Burghley and 10th at Badminton this year, read the Hickey family's Breeders 10 in the current issue of The Irish Field ☘️

Thank you Moate Agricultural Show and Colin Doyle for going the extra mile in putting these results together.
As mentioned in the Irish Draught Horse Breeders Association - National Show report, also in the current Irish Field, the topic of results - or lack of - has come up again and again.
Often in Memories, an appeal and How To guide to shows to put their results together in the correct format for a free service, surfaces.
Often asked throughout this summer why more showing results hadn't appeared. Yes, thankless, laborious job, not made easier by demands for entries on the day/late entries/sparse catalogues/no breeding details.
It just seems a lost opportunity though for shows not to do results. As remarked to one show secretary who sat down, did the homework and was delighted to see the literal result in print, 'you were running an invisible show before this'. 🤷‍♀️
