Standoff cleans up at Mount Vernon! 🏆

Not only did Standoff open the first iteration of the Mount Vernon Film Festival, it took home awards for both "Best Writing" and "Best Crime/Thriller Film." A huge round of applause for Brian MacReady for his screenplay and our talented Cast & Crew, whose work shows through every frame of the film.

We'd love to give a shoutout to Festival Director Bryan Ribero. He did a fantastic job organizing and running the first year of festival, as well as putting together an impressive slate of films, and informative panels

We'd highly recommend submitting a film to next year's festival to help this indie festival grow!

We're one month out from "Picking Up The Pieces" Fundraising Party!

To help raise fund for the Picking Up The Pieces we are running an event at Just Jakes in Montclair NJ on Sunday July 13th. We've partnered with "From The Heart Productions" a 501(c) Non Profit, that makes any donation to this film TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

Join us for a fun summer afternoon filled with games, a raffle, and a genuine good time. In addition to the fundraising party, there will be many filmmakers, actors, and other creatives from the NJ/NYC area at this event and will be the perfect opportunity to network with these people.

Tickets are $18, and the price of admission will include food and a drink ticket. By the way, it's Drew Grant's (Our Leading Man) Birthday that day. So be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday that day!

We look forward to seeing you all there and are excited to get another project off the ground!

Introducing Drew Grant as Paul

A familiar face to Vanguard shoots, Drew is an NYC based actor with a wide variety of work in both the film and theater worlds. Moving to New York, he fell in love with the intimacy of film, and has stared in two Vanguard Studios previous shorts that included “No Witnesses,” and “Standoff.”

He is looking forward to another collaboration with Director Rob Watt, and working with a similar group of filmmakers that brings professionally and passion on every set.

Introducing Rachel Kordell as Rose

Rachel is an Actress and filmmaker from New Jersey, who's filled with an unyielding passion for filmmaking and creative storytelling. Rachel has served as a production designer for our past two films, however for "Picking Up The Pieces," she'll be in front of the camera as our female lead: Rose.

With a diverse body of work, including recent projects such as “Mori" and “TJ’” Rachel is excited to sink her teeth into another role. In addition to her film work, you can also find Rachel as a main cast member on the TTRPG Podcast, RP Jesters, as well as engaging with her audience on Twitch as MajorasRose.

Pre-Production for Picking Up The Pieces is full steam ahead! 🎥 Written & Directed by Rob Watt

Our next film is a more somber and dramatic piece. One about a reunion between a former couple that will force them confront their mutual unresolved feelings. A story of love, loss, and closure.

Big Apple hosted and incredible festival, and we were throughly impressed by the quality of the films, festival and thearer.The film was well received in it's block and many people sought us out after the screening to extend their congratulations.

One down, many more to come!

STANDOFF will have its first screening in NYC during the Big Apple Film Festival, May 12-15.

Happy New Year from your filmmaking friends at Vanguard Studios! 🎥✨ As we step into 2025, we’re celebrating an incredible year behind us and looking forward to what’s ahead. Our short film No Witnesses premiered on November 29th and is now available to watch on YouTube. Liminal, shot in June, is deep into post-production, while Standoff, filmed in July, is currently making its way to festivals.
