Otto Lake, just outside the BWCA in the Superior National Forest, is little known. Canoe and hiking access only! It's a 130 rod portage with no access for wheeler, boats, and so on. No houses, just plain wilderness. It's a great alternative to the BWCA with the exact same features. No permits required. First come first serve only.
The fish are plentiful, and so are the bugs, turtles, snakes, and moose.
