Ten years ago to the day, "Post Exotic"— Bosco Rogers’ first and only album—was released; described as "a kaleidoscopic collection of flower punk and joyous psychedelia" - the British press never lacks imagination when it comes to coining new music genres.
Bosco Rogers is a Franco-British duo formed by Barthélémy Corbelet and Delphinius Vargas, produced and published by Bleepmachine. A truly fine team ✨
I remember that the critical reception was enthusiastic.
I remember the budget for the music video for the first single, "The Middle": £18—the cost of the sheet used as a green screen. The track surpassed 5 million streams. An excellent ROI.
I remember we had a flurry of syncs in TV series, fashion shows, and commercials (Adidas, Hermès, MTV, Emily in Paris, Tattoo Fibers, etc.).
I remember that they played all over the world (Paris, London, Hastings, Milan, Dubai, Taiwan).
I mostly remember that we had a lot of fun.
When I listen to the album again today, I think to myself that it’s a damn good rock ’n’ roll album that hasn’t aged a bit.
Thanks guys and happy birthday 🎂
