Just an update.. now have two 50 watt digital transceivers on 430 MHz band.. each can be used simplex or as gateways or via hotspot to the world.. started out simple then needs multiplied..10 amp supplies to other side of room.. extra cooling fans to run 50 watts.. microphone extension leads...extension speakers... system x repeater units and of course my least favourite bit of programming and setting up pi-star controllers.. learned a lot along the way with much help from North West Fusion Group and Milton Keynes Radio Society

G3VXI has now added digi comms to everything else.. using yaesu digital transceiver .. with my own hot spot.. all portable so can use it wherever I am as well as in the car... it's been a bit of a steep learning curve helped along by good people at Milton Keynes amateur radio society and the north west fusion group.... The system requires me to program in my callsign.. in order to avoid having to re-prog when in Scotland or England it will show G3VXI permanently.
