Donald Trump just escalated his rhetoric to an outright dangerous and authoritarian level. In response to a PSA from six Democratic lawmakers — all veterans or former intelligence officials — he didn’t just attack them politically.
He called them “traitors,” claimed their message was “punishable by death,” demanded their arrest, and even amplified a supporter’s call to HANG THEM.
Let that sink in:
A major political figure told his most extreme followers that arresting or executing Democratic elected officials is acceptable.
This is exactly how democracies fall apart.
This is how political violence is encouraged.
This is how authoritarian movements announce their intentions.
Congress must condemn this NOW.
Not in a few days. Not after “reviewing statements.”
NOW. Loudly, publicly, and with absolute clarity.
This is not partisan. This is about the survival of democratic norms and basic safety.
Congress must immediately open a discussion on Trump’s fitness for office — including consideration of the 25th Amendment.
Silence is not neutrality. Silence is permission.
It’s time to act.
