It is with great sadness that we announce as of 10/1/2020 6ix5ive6ix Records LLC will discontinue our entire record label department. This will also relieve all 656 artists of any obligations to the company and make them free agents effective immediately.
6ix5ive6ix Records will continue as an entertainment promotion company, including 656 Fest with the possibility of other artist resource departments opening up at a later time.
This was a hard decision to make, since 2014 our company has found great pride in working with the amazing artists we have been able to work with and help advance them in this business. From our very first artist GA $outh to our very last signee Boizee it has been an incredible ride.
It is important for us to realize that we have a "ceiling" as a label and can only offer so much to each artist. With an amazing roster that was hand picked over time, I see how many of them have the potential to rise to even greater places. That among many other factors have weighed heavily in the decision to let them all spread their wings and go to the level that I know they are all capable of.
On a personal note the burn out behind closed doors has been high and I have been stretched thin being the CEO, The Manager, The Promoter, Head of Tour Organization along with so many other simultaneous roles. Knowing that this team is really ready to rise to new heights as individuals and that I want to focus heavily on things like 656 Fest, it doesn't seem right to keep us all in a spot where we cannot chase our independent goals.
I want to thank the artist that made this company so notorious in the Maine and the New England scene. GA $outh, HVZE, Flawd aka Mateo Tha Monster, Dilyrium, Brodie James, Jibba The Gent, Tommie Trichomes, Boizee and of course my brothers in Northern Lights Nation ( Noxa, Cam Carl and DJ Germination) together we built memories and lived experiences that will last a lifetime. I am beyond thankful for these guys. I can truly say this is the greatest group of men I have ever been surrounded by. They have amazed me every step of the way. I also feel comfort in the fact that we helped each of them achieve new levels of success by being members of 6ix5ive6ix Records. The goal was to always make them shine like diamonds and I believe that has been done for them all. I absolutely love these guys and I am proud to share this special honor called 656 with them. This is something that like the military or a college fraternity, no matter how many years or how many miles are between us, we will always be bonded by The6ix.
Thank you all for the support over the years. From 2009 when we started NLN all the way 11 years later as we shut the doors on the Record Label part of the company, you all have been the biggest part of the picture. Our supporters are the life blood. Thank you.
I want to wish the entire team success in all the future endeavors they take on. 656 will always be here as a support system for every one of them.
I hope that 656 continues to not only have the support from all of our fans but our former artist as well. I pray everyone understands the decision, it may have been the hardest of my life.
Thank you all for your time, support, loyalty and your love. Stay tuned for what is coming next for 656, I promise the next chapter is the brightest.
