The PhP 85 increase under Wage Order No. NCR-27 is the largest ever granted in a single wage order in Metro Manila. It arrives in two tranches: PhP 60 on July 25, 2026, and PhP 25 on January 20, 2027, raising the daily minimum for non-agriculture workers from PhP 695 to PhP 780.
The Eddie Garcia Law (Republic Act No. 11996) pegs the industry's wage floor to the minimum wage of the region where a worker is hired, and covers all workers in the industry—including project-based and freelance workers—regardless of role or position.
Rates vary by region, so crews outside Metro Manila follow their own regional wage orders. Workers hired in Metro Manila keep Metro Manila rates even on out-of-town shoots. Workers earning just above the new minimum may raise wage adjustments through their guilds and collective bargaining agreements.
