BARNSLEY LEADS UK’S LARGEST HOSPITAL OUTPATIENT MOVE WITH NEW TOWN CENTRE HEALTH HUB // Barnsley is delivering the UK’s largest relocation of hospital outpatient services through its pioneering Health on the High Street programme, improving access to health and wellbeing support for thousands of residents.

In partnership with local organisations, work is underway to convert the first floor of the Alhambra Shopping Centre into a modern health and wellbeing hub. The first outpatient appointments will move from Barnsley Hospital to the new town centre site by autumn.

This project is a key part of Barnsley’s wider town centre regeneration, backed by over £60 million from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, and is setting a national example.

Thanks to Mark & Donna Ford for collecting 9 sacks full of litter on Church Lane this week.

Sadly they had to go back the following day as lazy people had already dumped another sack full of split open bags with Costa, McDonalds wrappers & tin cans.
