A bold new era for Dhivehi Football is on the horizon!

The newly proposed changes by 10 member clubs are set to completely change the landscape of the game in the Maldives. By restructuring the local season across four football regions, these amendments will bring competitive action closer to the islands, unlock new pathways for local clubs, and make football truly national.

This is more than just a format change — it's a vision for a more inclusive, competitive, and sustainable future for Maldivian football. A future where talent from every corner of the country gets the platform it deserves.

Kudos to the clubs for taking this historic step. The game is evolving — and it’s about time!

Let’s work together to bring real change. Let’s give every club, every player, and every region a fair shot. Let’s break the chain.

Maldives football is in serious decline — and it’s not because we lack talent. It’s because of poor management, short-sighted decisions, and a lack of proper structure from the top down. If we don’t fix the system, invest in grassroots development, and start holding people accountable, we’ll keep sliding backwards while others move forward. Time to wake up.

The continued delay of the football season is hurting players, their families, and the future of the sport in this country. For many, football isn’t just a game — it’s a livelihood. Every day without matches is a day of uncertainty, lost income, and fading dreams. Authorities must act now. Give our players the season they deserve. Start the football season — before it’s too late.

It’s been months since the Normalization Committee took charge, but still no real updates, no clear direction, and no visible progress. Football deserves better. Silence isn't a strategy — it's a setback. Time to step up or step aside.
