Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave caught up with Colin Doran lead singer of post hardcore / emo / Hampshire rockers Hundred Reasons.

The hard working band called it quits after six top-40 hit singles and two top-20 hit albums and sign off with a banging headline show at The Royal Albert Hall on May 7 2025.

Colin talks from the heart & tells it like it is. “We have seen bands run themselves into the ground and it’s not something we’ve ever felt okay with…”

Their last headliner show promises to be a fitting send off and last hurrah for fans and band alike since their formation 26 years ago back in 1999.

Splash Stories Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave set sail on an adventure with Starsailor's James Walsh celebrating 25 years .

For those loisteners who don't know Starsailor are a post Britpop band who formed whilst studying a Music course at Wigan and Leigh College Greater Manchester

Splash Stories touched on songwriting pressure, touring with The Rolling Stones and hitting two score and five years with a passion in 2025 and life as a Starsailor

Starsailor have released six studio albums and scored ten Top 40 hit singles in the UK. Their first album Love Is Here was released in 2001, followed by Silence Is Easy (2003) and On the Outside (2005). After the release of its fourth album All the Plans (2009), the band entered into extended hiatus until 2014, during which its members were involved in individual projects.

Starsailor announced their reunion on 23 May 2014 and began performing worldwide. Good Souls: The Greatest Hits was released in September 2015 and featured two new songs. Their fifth studio album All This Life was released in 2017 & was followed by Where The Wild Things Grow in 2024

Hits include 2003 single Silence Is Easy which reached number 9 in the UK, and Four To The Floor which reached number one in France as well as the top five in Australia.

Starsailor's 2025 tour includes a 25th anniversary celebration in the UK and Europe. The tour will include shows in May - November 2025 all shows tickets etc below & podcast links

Splash Stories is out on Feb 1 - Ben Steadman & Diamond Dave enjoyed a great chat with The Futureheads vocalist Barry Hyde from the pub/music venue The Peacock, that he opened with Dan Donnelly (Celtic Social Club/The Wonder Stuff/The Levellers) in Sunderland's City centre.
Futureheads The Sunderland four-piece who took their name from the Flaming Lips album Hit to Death in the Future Head shot to critical acclaim in 2004 with their self-titled debut album.
Their sound is a brash brave and brilliant mix of post-punk and three/four part harmonies their memorable cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Hounds of Love’ is superbly crafted, and their sound embraces stop-start dynamics in the rhythmic ‘Decent Days and Nights’, p***y abrasions on songs like ‘The Beginning of the Twist’ and tight harmonies which they later took to the max on their entirely accapella fifth album Rant.
2 decades later 2025 sees the band tour their greatest hits album released on Cherry Red Records.

Splash Stories kicks off 2025 with Crispin Gray, former guitarist and songwriter for Daisy Chainsaw renowned for their UK top twenty hit ’Love Your Money’ which wickedly appeared in an episode of Beavis & Butt-Head in the USA, Queenadreena and guitarist for Portuguese artist Starsha Lee.

His new band Alien Airforce released the mighty fine and poignantly titled single Good Luck World (I Think You're Going To Need It) on Easy Action Records in the spring of 2024 and we felt it was topical to talk to Crispin as we plunge head long into 2025.

Splash Stories hosts Ben Steadman and Diamond Dave caught up with Jet singer songwriter & guitarist Nic Cester during a little touring downtime for him in Italy.

Jet have been touring their Get Born 20th anniversary tour and issued a re- release vinyl release of the album and a new single – “Hurry Hurry,” with a b-side titled “Un’avventura as a little appetizer while they continue to work on an upcoming album.

Nic shared some interesting insights into what it's like to ride the wave of a global smash hit like Are You Gonna Be My Girl, how the song flipped from its original viewpoint and his rewriting the lyrics in about 5 minutes... mused on being in a band with your brother ... the Dandy Warhol's Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia & the Dave Sardy influence...Billy Preston...The Beatles...Songwriting...Canadian 'witch-metalers' Flown and him offering to literally buy the shirt I had designed off my back in a Melbourne restaurant...
