Paul Osbourne - News, podcasts, tea drinking Journalist, broadcaster, podcaster. Frequently to be found talking on the radio, or shouting at the television.

I make podcasts, and appear on radio, TV and online talking about stories in the news. I also fiddle with gadgets, spend too much on pens, and drink industrial amounts of tea.

The World Cup kicks off with ICE threatening raids at US grounds and Iran competing despite being at war with one of the hosts.

FIFA remains a money-making machine with corruption baked in — which is at leasat a good fit for Donald Trump, recipient of its first (and probably only) peace prize.

Yet… the second the whistle blows, I will forget it all for six weeks..

Has Nigel Farage made a huge strategic blunder by ignoring a father’s plea not to politicise his son’s death? And could it trigger another summer of violent disorder?

Full video on my page.

The social and political temperature is rising again as the UK heads into the summer.

Politicians and public figures — including Nigel Farage, Elon Musk and JD Vance — have been accused of exploiting a tragedy the victim’s own family begged them to stay out of.

Has the Reform UK leader made a strategic blunder as he chases lost right-wing votes? Why does the truth seem increasingly irrelevant in such a highly-charge environment?

How should political leaders balance public concern with the responsibility to avoid violence on the streets? Feel free to discuss in the comments, but please keep the conversation respectful and constructive.

In the wake of the tragic case of Henry Nowak, some leading figures have ignored his parents’ request not to exploit their loss for political gain.

The politicians - and others - who have waded into the case know exactly what they are doing.

But when powerful people use a family’s grief for their own ends, who does that actually serve?

Imagine being beaten by a mob, then watching the President demand they get compensation.

Donald Trump has been forced to give up his plan to give close to $2-billion to the rioters who smashed up the Capitol, and other allies who supported his conspiracies and alleged corruption.

Senate Republicans refused to support the slush fund, not because it outraged them, but because it would have harmed them at the midterm elections later this year.

Make America North Korea? Donald Trump’s turning America into a personality cult.

We know Trump likes to put his name on buildings, planes and even steaks. But as President, he’s hung his portrait from government buildings, and is having airports and arts centres named after him.

Now Trump wants to put his face on the money — starting with a new $250 bill.

It’s all starting to sound a bit like North Korea…

As the final episode of Stephen Colbert’s Late Show airs in the United States, Donald Trump drags America even further into the realms of idiocy.

The man who brought you AI images of Trump as some kind of deity now gets world leaders to delay a summit so he can attend a cage fight on the White House lawn.

But there is no need for nightly satire. None at all.

Most British pop stars wouldn’t dare do Eurovision.

Sam Battle - aka Look Mum No Computer - did.

He performed live in front of more than 100 million people, represented the UK on one of the world’s biggest stages, and now people who’ve never created anything themselves are lining up to mock him because the song came last.

You can dislike the entry if you want. But this idiotic pile-on says more about us than it does about him.

Is this the moment when the “King of the North” seals his future as Keir Starmer’s successor?

Andy Burnham is popular in a way Labour currently isn’t. But can he actually beat Reform UK in Makerfield?

If he wins, he’s very likely to be Britain’s next prime minister. But first, he has to win the most significant by-election in years…

Labour’s leadership crisis is accelerating - again.

Wes Streeting has long been accused of disloyalty to Keir Starmer — now he looks set to launch a leadership challenge.

Why the rush? Andy Burnham.

If Burnham returned to Westminster and joined a contest, many in Labour believe he could defeat Streeting, so he needs to move fast.
