I hope everyone had a happy and safe Labor Day Weekend! Charisse and I enjoy welcoming all our old friends and new to the Red River Gorge for a trip of a life time. Thanks to everyone who has purchased my book “In Shadows Canyon Red - Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge while visiting. I wrote the words “SAFETY FIRST” multiple times after learning the hard way how quickly things can change from fun to fatal. In a nano second, one miss step could be catastrophic on these trails. The Powell County Search & Rescue team has been working overtime saving lives this year. Thank you volunteers for your hard work and dedication to help people get out of situations they never imagined possible. Dehydration, exhaustion, snake bites and climbing accidents are just a few of the challenges navigating the unforgiving, rugged, steep ridge-lines of the RED RIVER GORGE. Visit the Welcome Center to get good information and maps to guide your way. New signs are up finally and easy to read. Be sure to visit all the local shops and restaurants and support the local artists. Like me and hundreds of others who love this special place we call our home…THE RED!

“Bill from the Ville Tele-Vision” has a new vendor in London, Kentucky. Our book “In Shadows Canyon Red - Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge” is now available at the Dog Patch Trading Post right off I-75. This 3rd generation family owned souvenir and gift shop has been in business since 1950! A wonderful selection of everything Kentucky - including home decor, apparel and novelty items. Our book can be found near the Kentucky souvenirs and bears! We met Gina, one of owners who showed us true southern hospitality! We are so happy to be part of the Dog Patch Trading Post! Travelers up and down the I-75 corridor, make sure to stop by and get a dose of a true Kentucky tradition.

“Bill from the Ville Tele-Vision” goes to Berea! We are pleased to announce our book “in Shadows Canyon Red - Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge” is available at The Taleless Dog Booksellers in Berea, Kentucky. This local independent bookstore is located by the Log House Craft Gallery - the oldest and longest running craft gallery in Kentucky. The Taleless Dog Booksellers offers a selection of hard to find books along with great gifts. The store may be named for a “tale-less” dog, but a “tail-less” cat names “Nora” is the store’s honorary manager and book selector. We appreciate being part of historic town of Berea and inside a great independent bookshop.

“Bill from the Ville Tele-Vision “ is always happy to meet a new neighbor in the Red River Gorge area. Firefly Hills RV Park in Beattyville, Kentucky is a great destination for full time or weekend adventurers. Tonya and Tony Lesmeister have created the perfect setting for the RV lifestyle with indoor and outdoor amenities. Our book “in Shadows Canyon Red -Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge” is now available alongside other local Kentucky artisans in the camp store at Firefly Hills.
There is also an historic house on the property, “The Snowden House” where rooms can be rented for those who prefer. But….you might be sharing your space with something PARANORMAL, as the house is rumored to be haunted and is part of the “Kentucky After Dark Trail”. Of course, that just reiterates the Bill from the Ville mantra, “right place, historic right time, right mind” with having our book for sale there. We are excited to be part of this special RV park!

“Bill from the Ville Tele-Vision”- Welcomes Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park as the newest Kentucky Park with our book. Located in Laurel County, Levi Jackson is the historic site where of pioneers Levi and Rebecca Jackon settled. The “Wilderness Road” was the main trail for settlers traveling from Virginia to Kentucky.
Beautifully maintained, the museum offers insight on the daily lives of the Jackson family and our hosts, Ron and Genevieve gave us a great history lesson. Ron also shared some paranormal stories with Bill about the homestead. There have been many paranormal investigations showcasing the activity.

The property still has a working gris mill and the “McHargue’s” unbolted corm meal is available in the gift shop. Charisse bought some to use on her last batch of fried green tomatoes! (And the tomato was a generous gift from Ron and Genevieve) .
Additionally, Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park was where the movie “The Kentuckian” starring Burt Lancaster was filmed in 1956.

The gift shop offers a wonderful selection of Kentucky handcrafted items and now our book, “in Shadows Canyon Red - Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge”. Truly an awesome place to spend the day. It is an honor to be part of such a historical place.

We are pleased to announce that our book "In Shadows Canyon Red - Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge" is now available at Ada & Lo, located at 390 Southland Drive. This locally owned, beautiful gift boutique offers great “one of a kind” specialty items and amazing ladies appareL Our book will be featured with the Fall and Halloween seasonal decor. This is our first placement in Lexingron and we couldn’t be more excited! We just hit a milestone for a first time self- published author and ordered another big batch of books just in time for the Halloween Season.

“THANK YOU!” - Another epic day at the Red River Gorge Welcome Center greeting guests, selling books and sharing supernatural stories. Our “Haunted Cabin” book is the perfect addition to your camping supplies to read around a campfire- whether renting a cabin or backcountry hiking- and a great souvenir from my very favorite place on the planet! It’s an honor to be the first face people see after exiting the Mountain Parkway at exit 33 to get maps and information about hiking trails and attractions in the Gorge. Special thanks to all the people who support local artists and bought an autographed copy of my book “In Shadows Canyon Red - Our Haunted Cabin in the Red River Gorge” today. We had the pleasure of meeting locals, folks traveling from all over the US as well as visitors from 4 different continents. Today was truly about being “in the right place, at the right time, with the right mind”. We are so grateful for your support and hope you enjoyed your stay in the Red River Gorge.
