We share the same empathy for the innocent lives lost during the drug-related killings. However, we also cannot deny that the number of drug addicts surrendering to rehabilitation increased, and statistics on r**e and murder due to drug addiction declined during that period.
We have all lived in the same country, experienced those times, and continue to witness the same news and events today. Now, under due process, innocent lives are still being taken—but this time, cases of r**e and murder linked to drug addiction have risen again, yet people continue to complain.
So here’s a legitimate question for those who hated Rodrigo Duterte’s way of dealing with this problem: What exactly do you expect authorities to do that would fully satisfy your preferences in addressing these problems? Because it seems that no approach will ever be considered enough. (2)
