1️⃣. Strangers who approach kids don't ask kids for help.
Adults don't ask children for directions, to help find a lost cat, or to come look at something. If an adult you don't know is asking you for help, walk away immediately and find me or another trusted adult. Real emergencies go to other adults, not children.
2️⃣ No food or drinks from people we don't know.
Not candy. Not juice. Not gum. It doesn't matter how nice they seem or how good it looks. You say "no thank you" and you walk away. 3️⃣ Your body belongs to you. No exceptions.
No one gets to touch you without your permission. Not a relative. Not a friend. Not an adult you trust. If someone touches you and it feels wrong, you say no. You tell me. will always believe you.
4️⃣ Safe adults never ask you to keep secrets from your parents.
If any adult, including someone we know, tells you to keep something secret from me, that is your signal to tell me immediately. 5️⃣You are allowed to be "rude" to keep yourself safe.
If someone makes you feel unsafe, you do not have to be polite. You do not have to hug them, answer them, or stay near them. Yell, run, make a scene. I will never be upset at you for protecting yourself.
6️⃣ Know your full name, my phone number, and our address.
Before you start school, you will know these by heart. If you are ever lost or scared, this information gets you back to me. 7️⃣If you're ever separated from me in public, stop and stay.
Don't look for me.
Find a store employee, a security guard, or a mom with kids and tell them you're lost. Do not walk around alone trying to find me. I will always come back to find you.
🥰If you found these helpful, save them for later.
