"Phantom of the Opera" Was Shot in 3D by Accident

(!)

Carl Hernz, chief stereographer at Carmichael3D (Florida, USA) made a strage discovery while digging old film stock looking for movies to convert in 2D: he discovered that "Phantom of the Opera" was shot with two side-by-side cameras, but NOT to produce a 3D film. Buncha savages...

To be great is to go on. To go on is to go far. To go far is to return. So yesterday I returned to #quickstop - the most famous convenience store in the world, and the wellspring from which all my blessings have flowed. Standing with me are the unseen heroes of Clerks, Sarla and Tarlochen Thapar - the owners of Quick Stop and R.S.T. Video. Mr. T hired me in the summer of 1989 (shortly after Batman was released). During the job interview he said “I see you have convenience store experience. We own the Quick Stop too. Would you be willing, from time to time, to also work in the convenience store?” I responded thusly: “Working in a video store is my dream job. But if you need help in the convenience store every once in awhile, I guess I can do that too.” And with that, I sealed my fate: 4 years later, I would shoot the first scene of Clerks on the very spot where the job interview with Mr. Thapar took place. So there they are: the crucial lynchpins upon which my story hinges. If Thapar doesn’t hire me that day, my movie career never happens. These two beautiful bosses not only gave me a $4.50 an hour job when I really needed it, they gave me somewhere to dream and scheme a future in film, on what would become the set of my first movie. If you like me or anything I’ve ever made, these fine folks whom I love are largely to blame. It only takes one person to believe in you - but having two people believe in you is way better. #KevinSmith #clerks #viewaskew #leonardo #newjersey #film #indiefilm #conveniencestore #cradleofcivilization

‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Video Essay Breaks Down Why It's A Masterclass in Bad Editing — Watch

“The Academy chose.....poorly”

“In breaking down the scene into panels showing every cut, Flight is able to pinpoint the shots that provide information to the viewer and the shots that are simply repetitive or visually confusing for the viewer. Flight goes as far to remove these shots and replay the trimmed scenes to show there was a way to edit “Bohemian Rhapsody” and have it flow more smoothly.”

Here's the reason a lot of people are confused over "Bohemian Rhapsody" winning the Oscar for Best Film Editing.

Pulling Focus Off the Monitor is a Bad Habit

Any camera assistant worth their salt can pull focus using nothing more than a few measurements, their eyes, and a follow focus. But it's become increasingly common to look at a monitor – instead of a subject – when pulling focus. So why is that a bad habit?
