Springroll Media is a collective of female media professionals specialised in telling stories using multimedia. We like to find untold stories in all parts of the world and develop new innovative ways to engage audiences. We produce documentaries, journalistic work, multimedia pieces, fiction shorts and data journalism work for international media outlets, NGOs, independent organisations and businesses.

🎬 Celebrating the World Premiere of 'Ik Vluchtte Naar Rotterdam'

We are more than excited to share the news about the premiere of our latest film, 'Ik Vluchtte Naar Rotterdam' at the Women Deliver 2023 Conference (WD2023). As the co-founders of Springroll Media, a collective of feminist artists and filmmakers, this moment feels very special to us.

'Ik Vluchtte Naar Rotterdam' is a project very close to our hearts. Shot on Super 8, this film explores the shared experiences of all too many women who have endured sexual abuse, trauma, dissociation, and healing. It delves into the profound psychological journey these women undertake, highlighting their strength and resilience. We hope this film sheds light on the importance of addressing these issues and fostering a supportive environment for survivors.

What makes this premiere even more special is the platform it was showcased on—the Women Deliver 2023 Conference (WD2023) in Kigali, Rwanda. This conference is one of the biggest gathering of grassroots advocates, governments, private sector leaders, philanthropies, and youth, all dedicated to advancing gender equality and empowering communities facing systemic discrimination.

As part of the conference, the Arts & Film Festival brings together inspiring creative content from artists worldwide. We are honored to be a part of this community using the power of art to drive social change and create awareness about the challenges faced by girls and women. Our mission at Springroll Media is to use film, photography, design and sound as powerful tools for visual storytelling to create a more inclusive world. Today, we are humbled to see how our work has resonated with audiences and sparks meaningful conversations.

Our multimedia stories has been nominated for ReporterPreis 2017, Scottish Refugee Media Awards 2017 and Migration Media Awards 2018. We received the Reporters in the Field Fellowship (2015 and 2018) and the Grenzgaenger Award from Literarisches Colloquium and Robert Bosch Foundation in 2016.
