*COMELEC Proclaims ER Ejercito as New Mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna*

PAGSANJAN, LAGUNA — In a dawn ceremony at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Pagsanjan office, located at the Pagsanjan Municipal Hall in Barangay Poblacion Uno, ER Ejercito was proclaimed the new mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna. Ejercito garnered 10,190 votes, surpassing incumbent Mayor Cesar Areza.

The proclamation took place at 2 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, and marked a significant win for Ejercito, who previously served as Mayor of Pagsanjan from 2001 to 2010 and Governor of Laguna from 2010 until his removal in 2014 due to an overspending case. This case was recently dismissed by the COMELEC, paving the way for his return to politics.

Ejercito's running mate, Jan Garcia, was also proclaimed Vice Mayor. Additionally, three of Ejercito's teammates secured seats in the municipal council:

Ejercito's victory marks a new chapter in his political career, which was previously marred by controversy. His proclamation as mayor comes after the COMELEC dismissed the overspending case against him, allowing him to run in the May 12 elections.

With this development, Ejercito is poised to serve the people of Pagsanjan once again, 12 years after his last term as mayor. The municipality has a population of 44,327, according to the 2020 Census, and consists of 16 barangays.

Laguna Governatorial Candidate patuloy ang pangunguna sa survey

San Pablo City— Patuloy na namamayagpag sa pinakahuling survey si Sol Aragones, ang tumatakbong gobernador ng Laguna, matapos niyang mapanatili ang kanyang pangunguna sa kabila ng sunud-sunod na mga isyung ibinabato sa kanya.

Hindi natinag si Aragones sa mga black propaganda na ikinalat ng ilang kampo.

Sa halip na pumatol, mas pinili niyang ituon ang pansin sa kanyang plataporma at konkretong mga plano para sa mas maunlad na Laguna.

Ayon sa kanya, nananatiling positibo at matibay ang suporta ng mga mamamayan, lalo na sa mga bayan kung saan ipinakilala niya ang kanyang programang “GOByernong may SOLusyon.”

“Kahit ano pa ang ibato nila, ang importante ay tapat tayong naglilingkod at malinaw ang layunin natin para sa probinsya,” ani Aragones sa isang panayam.

Ayon sa datos ng isang local polling survey, base sa 3 000 respondents, 41% sa mga ito ang nagsabing si Sol ang kanilang napupusuang iboto, malayo sa kasunod na kandidato na may 29% lamang.

Sa nalalapit na halalan, lalong umiinit ang laban, ngunit kung pagbabatayan ang takbo ng kampanya at dami ng sumusuporta, malinaw ang mensahe ng taumbayan: Panalo na si Sol.

'ANG BUDGET NG PILIPINAS AY HAWAK LANG NG DALAWANG TAO'

Isiniwalat ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa isang panayam na inilabas ngayong Martes, Setyembre 10, na dalawang tao lamang ang may hawak at nasusunod sa budget ng Pilipinas—sina Speaker Martin Romualdez at House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson Rep. Elizaldy Co.

"Ang budget ng Pilipinas ay hawak lang ng dalawang tao. Hawak lang siya ni Congressman Zaldy Co at Congressman Martin Romualdez. 'Yan ang katotohan,"

Ayon kay VP Duterte, tinaasan ang budget ng Department of Education ng P15 bilyon mula sa P5 bilyon noong 2023 para sa konstruksyon ng mga silid-aralan, at ang karagdagang P10 bilyon ay kontrolado ng dalawang kongresista.

“Hindi ko na kailangan ng corroborative witness dito dahil makikita ninyo ‘yun sa papel. Makikita ng taumbayan ‘yun sa papel. NEP, 5 billion. Lumabas ang budget approved, 15 billion,” saad ng bise presidente.
